  1. Or maybe: I'm not sure I should be posting there when we are all looking forward to happier times next week, but here it is, another round of rain:
  2. To people in the area it's not so long ago that Uckfield had major flooding (2000) and further floods in 2010. I think the sign by the River Uck has been 'modified' at points over the years to reflect what people really think of it... Floods in 2000 and 2010 http://www.uckfield.co.uk/flood.htm
  3. Went out in a brief lull a moment ago to look at the weir at the side of our car park. Never seen it so deep and in full torrent:
  4. Here's a thread to send out all of your Christmas and New Year greetings for 2012 into 2013 - either to a single member, group or everyone on Netweather!
  5. It's a part of the World I know quite well as I used to work for a company in Waterlooville, unfortunately I don't think it will be the only problem area over the next 36 hours
  6. Cold front clearing through during the day: Then another, stationary front behind it until tomorrow: Friday looks like a lull, before Saturday kicks off again: Eastbourne live:
  7. Up to 35,6mm rain in Eastbourne now or Venice, as we are renaming it....
  8. http://www.eastbourneherald.co.uk/news/local-news/langney-shopping-centre-closed-after-roof-caves-in-during-stormy-night-1-4604443
  9. I'm afraid GFS is no better and on top of the saturation from the last 24 hours, it doesn't bode too well:
  10. Don't go on Sunday, it will be murder! The start of Saturday also a wet one, NW Extra NMM charts just coming into the time-frame and you can imagine what's coming our way after this:
  11. Shopping Centre roof collapse being out own to high winds now, but I didn't register anything abnormal last night??? http://www.eastbourneherald.co.uk/news/local-news/roof-collapses-in-high-winds-at-langney-shopping-centre-1-4603901
  12. http://news.sky.com/story/1027957/flood-fears-rise-ahead-of-a-soggy-christmas
  13. Thank you for that S, I'm a little less stressed and probably won't write a complaint letter to them now!!
  14. Got home last night to discover they had changed all the street lamps in my road to LED/halogen ones from the old Sodium yellow units. Whilst I applaud East Sussex CC for their Eco-Friendly, energy saving initiative it's really dark out there now and it's going to play havoc with any snow-watch activities next year!!
  15. £100? Has to be this one: http://www.weathershop.co.uk/shop/collections/special-offers/technoline-ws2350-weather-station
  16. My home weather station always seems to under-read against the nearest, official one at The Weather Shop (about 2 miles away), but the overnight rain totals tally far too well... http://www.weathershop.co.uk/our-weather/weatherdisplaylive
  17. Saturday now coming into range and another major headache on top of what will be saturated or flooded ground from this lot: Those areas on lower ground or subject to run-off are likely to be affected if they aren't already. Back to today. That area highlighted by all the models yesterday around the IOW and inland, looks to still be in for some serious amounts today:
