  1. Very light snow here, going by the radar should be a lul before another hours worth before its all over definate band of precip oxford to manchester
  2. We have 7 - 8cms lying snow atm and counting, i think saturday will bring about 5cms before turning to rain here
  3. This looks like quite an event still some decent precip around, hopefully as temps fall below freezing every bit of snow will settle again, part of the problem during the day is depths have only really been maintained by the falling snow rather than increasing, oxfords inline for another decent spell
  4. Birmingham must have some serious snow now, it seems to intensify as it reaches that area, hopefully is on its way here next
  5. if anything looking at the net weather radar there are pockets of precip that are intensifying just south of birmingham and towards oxford
  6. those pics look much more like 5-8cms at most similar to here
  7. Edited - Please keep to discussing the models in this thread - you'll also notice lots of features and forecasts which will help answer your question in this area of the site! http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=forecast;type=home
  8. --> QUOTE(phil b @ 8 Feb 2007, 03:09 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> has someone switched on a snowmachine over brum it just keeps on snowing ,now have 4-5 inch's level snow but deeper in the drifts I noticed that too on the radar im hoping it comes this way but it seems to lose some intensity as it does so, still been snowing here all day, and have 2", could just do with some really heavy bursts to cover up the roads and places where people have walked
  9. Well left for work at 10, and having seen the radar and forecasts then i expected the radar to show far less than it currently does, having said that the snow has only been very light to say the least but doesnt look like stopping as early as forecast based on the current situation. snow of around 2" deep here.
  10. roughly the same here blizzards, although coming down much quicker now
  11. I think now with the low centred just south west of oxford the movement north of the precip will be greatly reduced, i wouldnt be suprised to see it stall completely by 1030.
  12. just over an inch of snow atm, with snow forecast to stay til around 3 its probably the right decision
  13. Very strange here, all schools bar 1 have been closed??? lol
  14. What time did it start there probably got 3-4 cms here didnt start till 6:15ish though
  15. Has any1 seen any flash warnings from the metoffice?
  16. suprised since your quite close, you should have some soon an an inch of snow already here
  17. About 1 inch of snow fallen here since roughly 6:15 this morning. Still coming down moderate to heavy and the wind is blowing it about! :)
  18. Things looking a little better here, Excellent midlands today forecast by rob m, snow in a line east and west of birmingham which he said will probably be around till dusk, that would mean 12 hours of snowfall! lets hope so!
  19. Basically his is right all the ones on the internet have the front to far north east, based on the net radars we would have been having snow for over 2 hours
  20. Im just wondering what people think on this, is the radar over doing the amount of precip or do ppl think its just being shown to far north + east than it currently is?
  21. looking very white here now, things look to be set for a decent few hours of snow, its a shame the radar isnt giving us an accurate idea of whats happening though It appears that either the radar has added extra precip than whats actually there or the whole band is 50miles further sw than shown
  22. wasnt when i checked literally 2 mins ago let me know when it gets heavier then il check again
  23. snow still moving this way slowy according to the radar but considering it says its snowing now when its not its hard to tell how accurate it is
  24. no snow here at all despite radar showing heavy snow??
