  1. Yep passed here now. Left the ground white with hail and snow!!! Very nice to see it white over here when it so rarely snows here! A couple of very close lightning strikes. Thats my first Thundersnow too!
  2. For now at least it looks like Cornwall will now be spared of the worst of the winds though 70mph gusts or so still looking likely for a time.
  3. Extreme charts for Wednesday now. Could be substantial damage in Cornwall from this if things stay as projected now. Worse than last week.
  4. Omg if the GFS 18z came off for cornwall next Friday it would be extremely serious. 70mph average in exposure and gusts 90 probably 100mph plus!!!!
  5. Was a very pleasant day today in Stourbridge. Cornwall getting battered again tomorrow. Next week looking rough at times too. C'mon Spring, you gave a very little taste of it today! Saw a few snowdrops in the woods today whilst walking the dog. Some Daffodils on sale in Cornwall last week. Will be really flowering soon.
  6. Tomorrow morning around 6am looks bad again. Only slightly less worse than this evening.
  7. Oh boy have we had some fun here tonight that would generally put any windy event elsewhere to shame inland! aka the Midlands! Crazy winds especially around 6pm where it was sustained winds 30-50mph for a time and gusts were well over 70mph. Weve had power cuts, lots of fallen trees, flooding and thunder and lightning and more thunder and lightning possible tonight before the winds get very strong again after midnight. Severe gales expected around 6am and only a little less severe than tonight.
  8. Nuts here tonight. Wind has eased now but will pick up again in the early hours. Power cuts nearby, flooding, lots of trees down. Incredible. Average wind must have been 40-50mph earlier and easily gusted 70mph+
  9. Chaos in Cornwall tonight. Lots of travel issues. Fall trees, some brief power cuts near here too, flooding. Lightning keeps flickering every now and then.
  10. Disgusting out there today. Very heavy rain. Tomorrow evening and night looks serious with 40-60mph sustained winds and gusts 80mph plus possible here on the exposed South Cornish coast.
  11. Had an incredible day in Cornwall today exploring the North Coast! Was sunny and mild actually. Warm in the sun out of the wind. Really nice day. Got to see the storm surge at Perranporth this evening too. Nothing too bad as the winds were light but waves were starting to overtop the wall a bit with nearby properties sandbagged and floodgates up. Quite surreal, especially seeing the incoming stream overwhelmed and then flowing backwards whilst the tide came in!!! Will be interesting here on Tuesday evening with 70-90mph gusts looking possible. This time it could be very bad here as the winds will be SSE/SE which leaves Falmouth VERY Exposed.

Back in Stourbridge on Wednesday night. Looks like snow chances are fairly low but maybe some wintry showers.
  13. Occasional heavy hail showers with some sleet in them and very strong gusts of wind.
  14. *** COASTAL FLOOD WARNING FOR ALL OF CORNWALL AND WATCH FOR GALES: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/warnings/4573724904 ***
  15. Hail, sleet, snow, gales, sun, mild, Interesting!
  16. Probably wont happen but what makes you say that. A channel low has been modelled for a few runs now. Is it just disbelief that it would never happen in your back yard? Reverse psychology? Interesting.
  17. GFS 18z going for a classic channel Low snow event over the Midlands next Friday and im back for a few days from Thursday! Could I bring some luck from Kernow?
  18. Good to hear most have had some light to moderate snow this morning.
  19. Haha I highly doubt its as exciting as it was yesterday for you lot. Sounds amazing and sounds like my home town pretty much took the worst out of the whole of the UK given the lightning strike fires and the prolonged radar returns more than anywhere else! I remember early last summer I think it was we had a warm spell and thunderstorms were predicted for most. They never showed up anywhere except one place and that was home even though it wasnt much. Stourbridge does seem to have a bit of luck when it comes to Thunderstorms sometimes. Anywhere I personally havent witnessed any lightning here tonight but the potential is there all of tonight and all day tomorrow. If the 18z is right we could have more heavy wintry shower and thunder later this week.
  20. A few wintry showers here in Falmouth tonight. Certainly a benefit living down here tonight with cold air over that warm sea generating short but heavy showers. Hail, sleet, snow and there have been some lightning strikes dotted around too. Good luck Midlanders!
  21. Very frequent fast moving showers here. Often containing hail and seems to be a little sleet and snow too. Only 2 or 3c here in Falmouth right now. A few lightning strikes detected nearby too.
