  1. I think tonight we are beginning to see signs that the Azores High may not be done with us by next weekend. Some sort of briefly cooler and more unsettled conditions likely for the North thus far but not really the charts a couple of days ago where a some proper northerlies were being touted.
  2. Beautiful day here in Falmouth. The wind is light and the sun is strong 13c and really feeling warm. Shorts out this weekend maybe here!
  3. Where do you get these analogies from? And why always this impending doom tat it must automatically rain?
  4. Wow, this is a very misleading post given 90% of the run is settled and warm and you have posted a chart right at the very end of the run. You have seen the volatile state of the runs even in the shorter timeframe so of course deep FI is going to change.
  5. Daffodils have been out for a while here now in Southern Cornwall but to be expected given we are the furthest south in the UK (mainland) so a strengthening sun earlier on and of course its generally milder anyway.
  6. Eh? Would you like to carry out a study of the correlation for this and compare against every other day of the week.
  7. When sunny in the evening the last bit of light isnt fading till quarter to seven here. Excellent stuff. Perfectly light even at 6pm now.
  8. Some fantastic charts on offer next week. Could parts of the Midlands be pushing 15/16c next week? I know the CFS isnt the most reliable model but the long term trend from the model for summer thus far is good!
  9. Wind getting really quite gusty here in Falmouth now. Lots of showers.
  10. Looks like it wont snow or even rain for most of the Midlands on Friday now
  11. Friday looks pretty much high ground only to me. Wouldnt expect any accumulations at lower ground. Precipitation intensity may support some wintriness though. Meanwhile, a stunning 'spring' morning down here on the Southern Cornish coast. Almost 100% blue skies, warm in the sunshine about 10c and the daffodils are out. The wind was very light or nothing too so felt perfect! Really did feel like the end of winter even if there is some more rain and wind to come.
  12. Not going to get many half decent storms without the heat in the majority of cases. Below average temps? Certainly not most would want.
  13. True it has been very monotonous and I have missed the sun and warmth and cant wait for Summer to kick in. Perhaps I have been lucky down here right at the bottom end of the country and very exposed to much of the weather thrown at us so I have seen a bit of everything. but yes I am all for dry, sunny and warm now! You seem to prefer it in Summer though...
  14. Thing is this winter is only 'terrible' to those purely after snow, which is a shame to an extent when the British weather can throw so much else as it has done this weekend. Whilst I feel very sorry for those flooded, injured etc from the recent storms, its thrown a hell of a lot of Interesting weather. From storm surges, gales, torrential rain, hail, sleet, snow showers, thunder and lightning we have had the whole kitchen sink this winter here and interest wise its been fantastic overall. Its only poor for those who are directly after snow. Might be good for those to take an interest in what else can be thrown at us!
  15. On a sunny day it's approaching 7pm before total darkness here. Very few can beat that because of our westerly position
  16. At least 70mph gusts here right now. Very strong gusts at times. Nearly got blown off my feet a short while ago! I have never experienced that before!
  17. At least 70mph gusts here right now. Very strong gusts at times. Nearly got blown off my feet a short while ago! I have never experienced that before!
  18. Frontal edge of the incoming storm has consisted of some hail/sleet here in the heavier burst.
  19. Its flooding at the Gloucestershire end though! Saw it for myself the other day.
  20. Looks like Bristol and Gloucester have had very similar thundersnowstorms (!!!) to what we had last night down here. Enjoy but stay safe. 2 homes in Stithians nr Falmouth caught fire from lightning strikes last night and disruption on the Penryn Campus due to lightning strikes affecting internet and phone services today.
  21. Just had a rain, hail, sleet and snow shower here in Falmouth with some little drifts of hail/snow against the sides of roads etc
  22. This is astonishing. I have never seen such a sustained period of +100mph gusts being recorded! Its rare enough it happens but its usually just one or two gusts!
  23. Looks like a few 60-70mph gusts here tomorrow afternoon. Some torrential rain likely for a time too. Then more wintry showers tomorrow evening, possibly thundery again! Crazy but fascinating!
  24. Very unstable air mass indeed! Just had thunder, lightning, hail, rain, sleet and snow here in Falmouth! So being away from the Midlands wasnt so bad after all! Some lightning strikes were very close mind! Very deep, booming thunder! What a winter!
