  1. Hi folks, well it certainly feels everybit Autumn here in the Vale, almost feels wintry! Stats go to prove that with only 13.7c at best today with an overnight low of just 7c and current temps are only 11.6c at 16.54. Wind makes it feel very cold!

  9. Weather forecasting is always open to criticism, thats the nature of the job! I do a column for a great local magazine but I have to put my weather predictions up to six weeks ahead , because they need to get the mag edited and ready for publishing etc etc. I always say that long range weather forecasts are about as good as a "chocolate tea pot" but I do have great respect for the chief forecasters on this site and others as well because its an almost an impossible task to predict what mother nature will do in a week or two,I find it difficult and there are a great many on here who will agree with me that long range predictions are very difficult, thats probably why the met office put there very long range forecasts as "experimental" I love reading the longrange forecasts on here and elsewhere, and a great lot of effort , knowledge, and understanding goes into these forecasts. I use metcheck and I do find them interesting and informative, and im sure there was a spoof weather forecast for this summer , but im not so sure it was Metcheck! even if it was does it matter??...... Anyway my take on it is that I have the upmost respect for weather forecasts be it short or long term and most of all for those folks who put them together its a hard job you,ll never please everyone or get the forecast right all of the time [by god ,people moan when you get it wrong and they moan when you get it right!  ] but, you do feel damn good when someone sings your success in a good weather forecast!

  24. Hi there . Looking at the posts it one hell of a situation out there. We in Evesham have had tremendous flood damage but at least we have our electric and water! It sounds absurd that barely twelve miles down the road there is a critical situation with floods and no power and more importantantly no water. Thankfully we have got no problems like that "as yet"! but im thinking of you all , and i hope everything soon sorts it self out!
  25. Hi folks. Hope everyone is ok . Its been touch and go with us at our house living by the Isbourne and Avon the water is starting to recede. The nightmare will slowly unfold as those flood waters dissapear, probably leaving untold damage across a wide area. We just about escaped the floods but the houses opposite are flooded. The Isbourne bridge as also recieved serious structial damage with my nieghbour saying that all the railings have gone on one side along with a pillar support and the path has been washed away with a likely hole in the center of the bridge. I know this rain was expected but this damage seems to be unreal. My thoughts go out to anyone caught up in this nasty weather.
