Hi, well as I dont live a million miles from you I know the area very well and Im glad to say there is a resonable chance of some of that "white stuff" on top of the Cotswolds and Malverns in the next few days. I must say Saturday at the moment looks good as thoughs winds will be coming from a northeast direction so blowing the wintry showers well inland from the North sea. Sunday, looks promising as well with perhaps a more organized area of Sleet and Snow but there is still a question mark over that at the mo. Im going up the Malverns on Saturday so heres hopein!!

Good morning folks! Excuse the pun but the earth did move for me and just about everyone else in the Vale just before one last nite. I woke to find my bed shaking and heard the stuff in my room moving about! Was not sure at first if I was dreaming, so i turned bbc news 24 on and they shortly comfirmed the quake! :blush: :lol: Quite a violent shake for a few seconds ,similar to the dudley quake of september 2002 here, but I did not hear a roaring sound like I did back then ,but I was then sleeping in a bungalow, so a lot nearer the ground! :o

About 30c somewhere in the midlands or the southeast :wacko:

Interesting read as always MrData. Just goes to show even on these small islands we can get tremendous flutuations in our weather. Perhaps March this year will be similar!

Just flicking through this thread , I was amazed when I done my monthly calculations for my area, from data supplied by my weather station [voews] that we were 3c up on day and nightly temps which fits in nicely with the met office info. We did have one day in Jan where the temperature rose to 14c and so far this month weve not reached that temp

Blossom on the trees, this early is generally a bad sign for the weeks ahead. Its often referred to "blossom winter" in these parts and more often than not its a sign of an upcoming cold spell! :o But please dont hold me to that! :lol: As far as I can remember the first sight of Blossom on the trees in this area was the end of January 1990 ......I will have to verify that....
