Good Evening Everyone... The crazy jet stream is bringing us some of the worst summer conditions since 2012! But the synoptic conditions look a little better and thankgoodness by day ten! Certainly caution needed , as this time last week ecm and gfs were modelling Anticyclonic conditions.. for this week . As they say things will get better before they get worse...

Indeed ! People looking at charts which won't verify at day 9 or 10.....shadows of 2012?

Good evening everyone! An High level of Shannon entropy from the models, Take no notice of model output from gfs and ecm from T+96 but the shades of 2012 are appearing...And historiclly nothing new about warm air up into the Artic. ,the chart from 1953

Evening! 2006 had a very warm summer what followed was 2007 .? Certainly not saying this will happen, have not checked the archives..will do folks!

Evening All! Northern Blocking ie an undulating jet stream will bring computer models to an absolute frenzy ..within the ten day range...Guess what?...??? This evening suite just show's that.

Good morning, !Yes I did mention a few weeks ago that I think this summer will have shades of 2012 and looking at next week's charts it looks like the first week of summer will have some very disturbed weather, of course a long way to go so we will see if it pans out that way ,but with a crazy jet stream and it shows no sign of changing due to mainly solar ,and lunar activity, but I'm expecting a summer completly opposite to last year....

Morning, well we go into meterological summer with the same undulating jet stream which seems to been around forever Of course it's not always a bad thing it does not mean it's going to be constant bad weather, I think this year farmers and growers can look forward to bumper crops with plenty of moisture but also a good measure of sunshine too....

Good Evening You and All! A Very Uncertain outlook , computer models really struggle with an undulating jet stream, and we call that a High Level of Shannon Entropy . Ecm is showing a Brief Plume before the Atlantic comes in ,Gfs is really not sure where its going....If I was to put some money on any model it would have to be the Ecm....

Northern Blocking....the theme of this coming summer, Plenty of cold flooding south thanks to some record cold in the Artic..interesting times and some interesting weat her this coming Summer to say the least for the Uk......Thunderstorm potential at its best Well except the odd Spanish Plume

Evening All, very pleasant weather for the next few days but then big changes as flabby areas of low pressures develop over the uk coutersy of Northern blocking...cold uppers still because a very cold Artic, ..coming up with this set up, Good news for growers, plenty of rain ,plenty of sunshine between the convective showers, PS Lovely sky scapes coming up , Thunderstorms etc, But still a chance of ground frosts as we move into early June...

To be honest I would normally say that models have a high level of Shannon entropy with this set up ,but models have been adimant of a mainly fine week coming up and a breakdown from the south by late Thursday /Friday, courtesy of Northern Blocking, must say I'm impressed there is virtually total agreement for a change from both ecm and gfs , okay its probably not the outlook some would want but as we live in the UK ,we can't really expect two years to be exactly the same...historically speaking

Evening All! Fine weather to come after this weekend for a time ,then models show we are back to square one this time next week

Morning, so what do you mean by a joke? Is it because it's not what you want to see? I mentioned a few days ago Northern Blocking with an undulating jet stream is the overall trend now and into the coming weeks and months. What we are seeing from the computer models is exactly how you would expect the outputs to be, computer models don't like blocking patterns ie, Default patterns they handle much better as the case of Atlantic driven weather. Looks like next week's weather will be fair at first for all then becoming unsettled from the south and temperatures much lower than forecast just a few days ago........

Evening! Mid latitude blocking Followed by Northern Blocking once again!...Really don't see any change in the days ahead. No Heat wave from the models as predicted from last night which I said would Not happen....To many Computer phonies on here , Oh yes rain for all , Thunderstorms etc, The Echoes of 2012 look very realistic! Bring on Tomorows models...

Evening ! Still sticking by my guns with echos of 2012 summer. The ops models showing some warmth later in the 10 day range but that is only one run, Even summer 2012 had warm dry spells..tomorows ops will be quite different.....

Good Evening All! Pembrey Sands in SouthWest Wales recorded a low of minus 3c , quite remarkable as this location does not often get that cold in Winter The synoptics at present and forwarding to the next ten days ,Cold lovers would have loved these synoptics but far too late! I just wonder if the Sudden Stratopheric warming months ago has anything to do with this? Anyway Northern Blocking in situ , for at least 10 days, well below temps for May , some place getting well above average rain in the convective type weather .other areas virtually nothing...Summer 2019 has got Echoes of Summer 2012....
