    I think anyone on the Essex coast is going to be disappointed tonight, now up to 2.1c, the models did suggest this could be the case.

    Another tick up to 1.9, definitely pulling in some milder air at this end of south essex!

    Not liking the up tick in temp to 1.8, d p on the other hand going the other way and down to - 3.

    Temperature just sneeking up a touch in Southend from earlier low, sitting at 1.7,dp - 2.6.

    Really surprised your not doing better Paul over in leigh, I live near Southchurch Park and it is always at least a degree warmer when I leave for work in the morning before I get to belfairs area of leigh. Fine lines tonight but Thursday definitely looks more promising.

    Pretty disappointing in Southend was looking promising 30mins ago when temp dropped suddenly but leveled of now at 2c, what's the latest in Leigh-on-Sea?

    Decent little covering now in Leigh-on-Sea, very unexpected!

    Streamer struggling to get going really, can only report 2/10 in Southend at the moment.

    Moderate snow now falling in Southend and readily settling on all surfaces other than roads.

    Southend / Leigh-on-Sea area getting hammered for the last hour.

    Estuary looks like it is firing up again, radar returns intensifying on ever update with greens appearing on North Kent coast. Just checked out the window and it's starting to snow again in Southend.

    Southend on the North side of the estuary and Maidstone on the South seem to be in the sweet spots at the moment.

    Usually the other way around, I normally find the snow is worse when I travel to work in Leigh-on-Sea from Southend. Just started snowing again, although nothing on what is hitting Maidstone over the estuary!

    Temporary pause while in between showers, currently have 6-7cm on the ground, would like to think 10cm isn't out the question by the morning if the train of showers maintain their current course.

    Incredible heavy 50p size flakes coming down, next shower round Burnham should hit you if it maintains it strength on it's west side.

    Next one on the way although not so intense looking, lining up after that so could hopefully get a few more cms by the morning.

    The difference a few miles make, in Southend it has been hammering it down for the past 20-30mins.
