    First snow of any significance starting to fall in Southend, nothing settled over night but radar returns starting to look more promising.

    Looks like Chelmsford and then East London are just about to get a direct hit from that ever increasing blob!

    Radar seems to have gone down but can confirm heavy snow shower has just started in Southend.

    Mouth of the estuary now starting to fill up, heavy snow falling in Southend, looking good for those west of here.

    Moderate snow shower just passing through Southend, settled on all surfaces, showers coming further inland and up the estuary now.

    Boom!! It's coming down heavy in Leigh on Sea and settling nicely!

    Biblical amounts of rain here in Southend today, rail and road suffering badly with flooding, this is turning into quite a rare event!!

    All points south of tunbridge wells reporting snow, radar playing up for north kent and south essex by looks of it!!

    Yet again just on the wrong side of marginal for a decent covering, that must be the 5th time this winter/spring now. No trouble getting the precipitation just 0.5c too high ever time which makes such a difference!!

    Really kicked up a gear in Southend now, we have been under that streamer for 24 hours now with over half off that resulting in settling snow.

    Woke up to further snow falling and by the looks of the radar it's been like this for a while, I dare say the drive to work will be an experience!!

    Main band definately moving north and shower line getting pushed north!

    As the convergence line moves north will this result in the main band moving north likewise?

    I think it just looks like that as the main band pulls away on the eastern end!?

    Really heavy again here, that plane wouldn't have standed a chance rochford was getting battered at the time and the cross winds are gale force!!

    I can believe that the radar returns looked amazing for you and PS between 22.15 - 22.45!!

    Factor 7/8 again in central southend!

    Rayleigh must be getting buried right now, just missed out here in southend on that last batch!

    Crazy journey home, council in southend have not gritted at all, town of 175,000 has all roads like a ice rink, 2hours to do 3 miles from leigh to southend!! Now breath and enjoy the snow falling.

    A+ for effort he in Leigh on sea but it just will not settle for more than a minute after heavy burst stops! A month earlier or half a degree colder and we would have had 2-3inches by now and I'm sure PS will support me on that!

    Just skirted us here in southend could see it dark over your way though, just about to leave for work in leigh now.

    Big drop in temps last 15 mins, snow easing up a bit however.

    Radar had said snow not far away for hours and hours now but nothing has fallen, until now that was wind really picked up and dry snow blowing up the road and lamp post filling up just like the mouth of the estaury!

    Ok, snow falling rapidly and everything covering already roofs, roads and cars!!
