When does the UKMO 168 chart become available?
Would love to see what happens to the low, blasting north or undercutting?

Why is Meteociel not showing updated GFS or GEM?
I would love to see the control run, but since no one has mentioned it I assume it is rubbish

First few little flakes falling in Bromley - better not be too wet but I’m losing hope of it settling
it will only settle on the surfaces that already have snow like grass, roofs and cars.
ground temps are too warm. Doesn't bother me that much as I need to go out in the car later!

looks like the French system is further north than expected so an increased risk of small amounts of snow for southern counties

Developments to South now all look further north than forecasts
well it buggered us up yesterday but works in our favour today, not that it matters as it wont settle but nice to see falling snow anyway

Met office forecast says dry with increasing sunny spells in SE this afternoon......
yes, and BBC graphics with Helen just now totally dry. Meteogroup and their awful graphics must be changed or at least forced to improve

Just so people know this is NOT a Kent clipper, its a textbook thames streamer setting up. Worth noting the winds did briefly swing more NE asthe convergence line set-up, but now winds bending back ENE and as a result the snowfall shield is developing in the mouth of the Thames.
Expect returns to get heavier and spread westwards with time. So far this is looking similar to Feb 2009 in terms of timing, may not evolve that way though of course!
amounts will be much less I think. We had about a foot but not expecting anything like this. That was also a Sunday night so we got a day off Monday. But this time it will be melted by this coming Monday!

blowing a gale outside here now, decided to watch eastenders for the first time in years for want of anything else to do, how depressing was that?
me too. First time I've seen it since Janine was in it. Must be about 10 years. Sad to see the two girls go like that.

drizzle here. any snow has melted
-
cold, but nothing to get very excited about to be fair, especially for us southerners. Cant complain considering what we have endured in recent years
nice synoptics anyway that could develop into something interesting later. Or it could just sink!

TWO refugee here! Didn't think the outlook was that severe for the servers to go down!
Disappointing 06z run, hopefully just a wobble

from flood to freeze on ECM!

dont think its going to make it much further north, besides NAE says its rain. Any reports from Kent?
-
sharp drop in temp, helping it to settle better. looks like the band is shifting further north though
-
why is wetterzentrale so slow?
anyway well done to NAVGEM for being the only model to pick up the undercut. May not have long term implications on the pattern but the cold is extended by a another few days
-
incoming from belgium. looks good for kent and sussex. cant see much getting beyond north surrey/south london
-
ECM wont please anybody. Wet and cold and miserable
-
not too far away from building a scandi block. the 06z holds the ridge almost long enough. ECM seems to think the cold will give up very easily but we shall see what happens on the evening runs
Model Output Discussion. 3/12/2022. How cold will it get?
