  7. Hi all have just got back from my recce of Manchester and all went well the hotel is nice enough the rooms are good the bar is fairly quite with drinks costing just over 3 pounds each. the car park is free to residents and the taxi ride into town is around 7-9 pounds I have a broad plan of action for next saturday and it is as follows meet at the hotel around 1400hrs there is a bar in the hotel so will wait for people there around 1700hrs head into town for a few drinks before dinner have booked a table for 16 people in a chinese in chinatown for 1930hrs its a buffet menu £12.50 a head when weve finished there we will head into the northern quarter for the remainder of the evening there is a good selection of bars with DJs and the like playing till 2 in the morning then taxis back to the hotel the above is just a rough plan of action and is not set in stone apart from the meal time which we will have to stick to any thoughts or comments welcome and I look forward to seeing you all next week ps will get a map and full address posted up here no later than wednesday afternoon Ian

  12. Thats great snow joke the more the merrier its always good to meet fellow forum members at the mo the plan will be all to meet at the hotel at around 2pm or there abouts and head off to a bar then grab a chinese or something then maybe onto a lively bar or something for the evening. If you know any descent bars to go to all seggestions welcome will be coming up to manchester on the 6th of feb to do a recce and visit a few bars to get an idea of what to do. I will get a map posted up soon of where the hotel is along with the full address. Ian
  13. just a quick note the holiday inn manchester central park hotel is now full! can anyone who has not already booked a room let me know asap so i can try and sort something out for them many thanks Ian
  14. well Paul it will be good to see you there if you can make it. laterooms.com is the website I used to book the rooms last week and they do seem to have the best selection of places to stay Ian
  15. Right I will have to hold my hands up and admit i have made a rather big blunder I did not make sure I booked us into the jurys inn when i first posted and unfortunatly as you all know their room rates are through the roof for the jurys inn on the 27th feb - It is £148 per night so thats not working. The Holiday Inn have however managed to book us into the holiday inn manchester central park so I have booked 5 rooms there at £71.50p per room. The list of people I have booked as follows room 1 Ian cameron & Paul sherman room 2 John Hanrahan & Pat Carter room 3 Tom Lynch & Jenet lynch room 4 Tammy Emery room 5 Andy Paisley & nick Finnis icbinb only saw your post after already booked the rooms however after checking thay are still doing the rooms at £71.50p. Dave vicary not sure if you have booked or not so if you have not maybe you 2 could share a room to keep the costs down. Arron are you still coming? I hope I have not missed out anyone else how is coming if I have let me know so I have a rough idea about Nos and that once again sorry for the cock up hopefuly things will run smooth from now on. ps will update here nearer the time with more info
  16. Hiya Andy, sorry for not getting on this sooner have been pre-occupied work and stuff but we are getting there I am going to have a gander at what hotels we can find and will post something up in the next few days. People can you let me know how many of you have already booked at the jurys inn so I know how many rooms to look for many thanks Ian
  17. blimey you dont come on here for a few weeks and damm so many changes so am feeling for you NickF not going to be the same without you out there. And I'm pleased for evryone else whose booked up since I was last on here sounds like we are going to have a blast. I am heading out on tour 2 and am on the BA flight in the morning amlooking to stay at the sherington the night before so if anyone wants to join us there or meet up at termanil 5 in the morning let us know
  18. great news to hear both Pat and Danny have managed to get things sorted and are now back on tour is going to be great getting the crew back together like everones saying not long to go now!!!
  19. gutted to hear you cant make it next year pat am sure you must be distrought at the moment i'm feeling for you fella hope to catch up with you soon Ian
  20. Like Paul said count us in for a seat think this will be a blast from the start hay stu maybe we could have a chinese food eating comp as a warm up act for the real thing oh and maybe a sambuca or 2 as well hehe
  21. No Pat, what I ment was if you leave it till the last minute to book the room it will end up costing you 115 pounds. The rooms at the mo are 57 pounds per room so if 2 people share thats 28.5 pounds each at the moment however if you leave it a month or so the cost may go up I hope that is a bit clearer for you pat Ian
  22. Pat you can book the rooms as late as you want however the later you leave it the more expensive it will become room rates for this week are £115 per night so as you see the price nearly doubles if you leave it till the last minute Ian
  23. Have chosen the Jurys inn as base camp for our stay in Manchester the rooms are going for £57 per room so 2 per room thats only £28.5 pounds each rather cheap i thought and its only a 5-10 min walk from Manchester Picadilly so nice and central though I will say the rroom rate will go up the closer to the time so book early I am going to book three rooms for the people that I know are coming this week so drop me a line if you are thinking of coming along. ps will post i link to the jurys in in a little bit it has a site map on the site as well so you can see where it is too! Ian
  24. Hi all, We are having a pre chase tour meet up on the last weekend of Feb 2010 in Manchester the reason for this is to catch up & finalise plans for May and have a few beers, the people already confirmed to attend are Ian Cameron Paul Sherman Tom Lynch John Hanrahan Nick Finnis We will meet in Manchester for Sat 27th in the afternoon & book in to a hotel then a few beers a meal in the evening then on to a bar for some more beers. This meet up is open to everybody to attend even if your not on any of the stormchaser tours its a good chance to meet some of the forum members and also a chance to ask us all sorts of questions you may have will update at regular times if you are keen to join us PM myself or Paul Sherman just so that we know for Numbers for hotels etc etc look forward to hearing from you soon Ian
  25. I know you were probably only messing AJ but thats a really good idea. I've never done the Chunnel before. Whats involved, is like pay on the way in? How long does it take and how much? I think we might really do that, get another country in for the laugh. Ian might even tag along
