  1. Yes I share your frustration too here in Warwickshire, here also we get our fair share of snowfall, usually we miss the worst of the snow but even the worst is still miles better than thunderstorms here, yes getting tired of summer now its nice for a month or two but then I start to long for autumn/winter, also until late August everything is so quiet, can't wait for the football season and entertainment to pick up, bored to death of the royal baby too
  2. Really looking forward to autumn and the variety it brings, October is great for variation, I find months that can offer winter and summer much more interesting than any other and I also like the more equal daylight nighttime lengths.
  3. Must of been very dangerous for cyclists this morning, wouldn't fancy being out with lightning/heavy rain cycling around country lanes, some roads in Warwickshire had flash floods and had to be closed down.
  4. lol not sure how having no storms for like 7 years then having a few minor ones is being spoilt gord, abit like a starved person having one nice meal then nothing for years and calling him spoilt, we are much more spoilt over snow after having plenty the last 5 years.
  5. At least the Jan snow hung around here and I had many days enjoying it as well as the March snow, what can you enjoy with heavy rain, nothing really.
  6. I'm going to go out now for a drive to try and find some storms, i'm in between Rugby and Knowle.
  7. Have a bad feeling to be honest, better chance of winning the lottery than having severe thunderstorms nowadays in mid Warwickshire, even strato king conor has a better chance than me. Just hope I don't just have horrible dirty looking skies with light rain like I always seem to get in thundery outbreaks.
  8. Yes in the morning you can definitely notice the later sunrise times in the evening though you can hardly notice earlier sunsets, mornings get darker more than sunsets but from about now sunset times will start to pick up in getting earlier.
  9. I think this will go down as the best spell of the summer, early next week looks the peak of this hot spell.
  10. Doesn't look like us west midlanders will quite get to the magic 30C mark in the upcoming week, I think it's been 7 years since we have.
  11. Even conor won't be moaning by next weekend, plenty of hot sunshine for him to be baked in starting next weekend
  12. Very easily pleased I see, with the azores high sitting stubbornly to our southwest and letting weak fronts roll over the top once we pull in the warmer uppers Wednesday onwards it will cloud over and just be awful like a few days last week were with sunshine figures worse than a December's day, haven't seen so much hype over a nondescript spell ever, if the midweek onwards setup was December the razors would be out.
  13. Yes shocking forecast by the UKMO/BBC, hardly any rain at all this week here, last two days have been comically bad by them with no thunderstorms whatsoever just dull and humid, my signature lives on in Warwickshire. How you get on with your X-ray telescope triple, see any bright moon through all that thick fog/low cloud Very foggy in the countryside in Warwickshire this morning, up on the Edge Hill escarpment it was like a November morning.
  14. Yeah by me, seems only you saw it, not a surprise for you though as you seem to live in cloud cuckoo land.
  15. Or your house and backyard has its own microclimate Well your microclimate has now joined in with the rest of us west midlanders Surprised you aren't moaning more conor, its abolustely dreadful here now so dark I have to put my lights on, pathetic for mid June i'm sure you would agree
  16. The improvement continues for overnight/tomorrow with strong to gale force winds
  17. Shame you don't moan about the weather on the right days conor, you seem to moan when its sunny in most of the midlands yet when its dull in most of the midlands like today you hardly moan at all.
  18. Well in mid/south Warwickshire which is a good bulk of Warwickshire after last Wednesday it has been sunny and warm almost every day, Monday the cloud was more stubborn but still it broke by about 6 pm in south Warwickshire and it was very pleasant indeed in the sun, not sure whats going on in the Nuneaton area but it sure doesn't sum up Warwickshire's weather since last Wednesday. The atlantic will bring stronger winds and bands of rain so I wouldn't exactly call that an improvement though with cooler atlantic RPM air some sunshine is likely between rain bands.
  19. Intense rainfall for next Thursday on GFS 12Z for parts of England. http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1504.png
  20. Some might disagree but I don't want it hotter than the weather today, it is just perfect, these easterlies are just fantastic even conor is happy for once
  21. Yep perfect summer weather Damien, would lock this pattern in all summer if I could, not sure why summer blizzard thinks its too warm, you can get warmer more humid spells than this in June. I see lots of people out walking after 9 pm in shorts so its warm enough for them, it seems just a few are moaning and we know who they are
  22. Of course we will at some point in the UK's history, you didn't put a timeline, 40C has unofficially been recorded before in the 19th century but before reliable screening so not recognised, i'm sure it has before and it will again, just knowing when is the problem.
  23. Yeah what a month, most incredible month for a long time, a March we will most likely not see again in our lifetimes, remember walking in the Northamptonshire Uplands and seeing lying snow on April 4th with bitterly cold NE'ly winds and temps near 0C by day, colder than most mid winter days, if people don't find just the deviation from CET interesting I think they should give up this weather watching lark.
