Fingers crossed
Not something to be expected at this stage but would be a nice surprise if it does hit the region.

I'd this rain from the South?!?
Yes it's the torrential stuff that was forecast for South but has gradually been modelled further North and east.

your in liversedge i see. Im there too near windy bank. Looking good now. Finished work for day, so time for me to see some proper action! Already a decent covering here in liversedge. And bbc showing heavy snow showers all through tomorrow too!
Yep. Good covering although its too powdery to make a snow man.

Is kirklees in west yorks looking good for some more snow? Radar looks fantastic to me for tonight!
Beyond what's on the radar is anyones guess! Hopefully yes!

Looking further ahead (currently to Tues) the wind remains generally from the east with daytime temperatures barely above freezing. There could be more opportunities in the days ahead that aren't yet forecast... remember last week the BBC predicted a dry and cold week ahead and look how that turned out!

It is absolutely freezing out there! Taking rubbish to bin in t shirt not a good idea!

Once this set of showers has passed by there looks to be a couple of hours of dry clear weather before those showers in the North sea blow inland. What's after these.... who knows!
Tomorrow will be treacherous on the roads where snow has compacted and partially melted.

Sheffield looking ripe (again!)

So what’s everyone’s thoughts on West Yorkshire chances this afternoon and evening?
We will get some within the hour then a dry slot. After that is anyone's guess!

Without upsetting our Leeds friends this next streamer is going the same place. maybe 20 miles north so Barnsley in more of the action
I think Leeds will get some, but as you say, S York's more of it.

Sun's out now.... drip drip drip! Although many of the drips are forming into icicles.

seems fairly decent, certainly was right over night and into this morning
I think these just extend the current shower activity rather than introduce new showers. Good to see progress of existing weather but bad for new showers in my opinion.

Still very jealous of the snow totals in other places - I'd kill to have a foot of snow, something I haven't seen here in over 23 years. Sigh.
Snap, just not high enough where I am. Fingers crossed for more this aft and tomorrow. With weather warnings extended into Yorks it may be another interesting day.

Wish the radars would cover the entire North sea. We could then see what's out there!

Lots of icicles today, especially on cars where the slush has frozen. Much colder than it was yesterday and thd wind is whipping up the snow.
Just about 2 inches so adequate for sledging!

South Yorkshire streamer looks like it will die off in next hour or so. My next area of interest is the showers just south east of hull that are now appearing on radar. These look more in line with west yorkshire!

There's more snow just creeping into view on the radar in the North sea. Slightly further North than the Sheffield streamer.

The dry area is clearly visible on the met office radar. Hopefully this doesn't limit our chances later tonight.
