  1. Quite agree with you. What I don't understand is why some LRFs are rubbished as soon as they appear yet others are treated like the second coming. The people who praised the netweather summer forecast (on June 1st) the highest are, by and large, the ones moaning about the summer weather the loudest. Doesn't quite equate somehow.
  2. Very well. I obviously misconstrued your meaning and apologise unreservedly.
  3. Have you noticed how some LRFs are shot down before the relevant time-period has even started, and others have praise heaped upon them, again, before they become current? I'd have thought the time to appraise them was at the end of the forecast period rather than the beginning.
  4. If I had the time I wouldn't need to ask. As it happens I've got plenty of other things to do but thanks for taking the trouble to provide such a helpful response. Like being back at school.
  5. How do these much-maligned individuals efforts compare to LRFers of higher esteem - such as the netweather summer ones?
  6. Agree with this, combined with their warmist agenda they are too prejuduced to forecast objectively.
  7. Last summer (and spring, autumn and winter) were exceptionally dry. That's why drought orders were imposed in many areas in April.
  8. Not sure about lack of growth to be honest. Lifted some early potatoes at the weekend and they were absolutely huge, had to chop them to get them in the steamer, whereas normally they're only slightly above golf-ball size at this time of year. Also the field of barley down the road is almost waist-high already, so that's growing well. It will need some sun to ripen it next month though.
  9. It isn't really cold, I still walk my dog in T-shirt and lightweight trousers. A bit wetter than normal but we need the rain, and it's just balancing out the exceptionally dry weather of the previous 18 months or so.
  10. I'd have thought the global warming disciples will be using that line and saying how it's all our fault.
  11. Attention all posters: Hinting Alert 20:34 MOD thread. Please continue with your day to day business. No need for alarm. Monitoring ongoing.
  12. Marvellous. They issued the warning for West Midlands an hour after the storms started. I could have looked out of the window and told them that. Useless.
  13. All major roads in and around the country's second city were affected and/or closed at times today. Was there a warning from the Met-Office "super computer", if there was, thousands of people must have missed it? All I heard about on the radio this morning was "a chance of thundery showers".
  14. So I'm told. I can report experiencing widespread hinting whilst out and about today. This hinting could build into a crescendo given time and then few of us would be surprised if those summers weren't coming along like buses.
  15. That'll be the fourth one so far.
  16. I meant they could have been hotter. That would be worse.
  17. You don't make a very good case for cycling. Are you forced to travel in this manner?
  18. Depends how you define crap. I think they could have been a lot worse.
  19. "He said £20.7million was invested in the project last year alone, taxpayers’ money “which will enable the Met Office to deliver more accurate forecasts, from hours to a century aheadâ€. Mr Hirst said this referred to climate change predictions." Climate change predictions! We taxpayers have to pinch ourselves every now and then to remind us how lucky we are in being allowed to feed their obsession.
  20. According to you that'll be the third one this year!
  21. I'm sure we get more sunny days in summer than we do snow in winter.
  22. There were more than four, I was addressing the unrelenting aspect - which is just as bad only much more of it.
  23. Maybe you've got one of those weird cars without wipers? My motor tends to travel fairly consistently unless there's snow, ice or floods. I find driving more enjoyable and easier without the sun being either in my eyes or creating poor visibility due to shadows. I'm sure if it gets too warm and sunny my employers will grant me extended leave eh?
  24. Absolutely - no need to go out for work or similar trivial activities. I can't believe what I read on here at times.
  25. Just from memory 75, 76, 03, 06 all had unrelenting sunshine, no cloud or rain then.
