  1. Even got my shorts on. Just tied in the climbing roses, cut the hops back and had a general tidy up. I was meant to shift more soil today, but CBA. I'm hoping I can do 30 mins in the evenings soon, after work.
  2. Absolutely lovely out now. Cup of tea on the patio and I can actually feel the warm of the Sun. Even got the sunnies on.
  3. Both him and his Mrs are grifters, so that's their job. Unfortunately a lot of our dim-witted fellow Brits lap it up.
  4. I like it. Storms should be named after fossil fuel companies | Climate crisis | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Letter: Instead of giving storms innocuous-sounding first names, making direct links between the polluters and the impact they cause would be a step forward, writes John Uden
  5. Haven't looked yet, but I'm surprised the beeb/mo starting wanging on about it from last Wednesday.
  6. Seriously, don't worry about it. We'll all get together on Monday and assess it from there. We might then decide that we still don't know, but we'll have saved ourselves 5 days of stress. Anyone who tells you what's going to happen from here is deluded at best.
  7. I wouldn't go that far necessarily. I think used in combination with standard seasoned logs, they're fine. Also, if I'd run out I'd be more than happy to use them on their own. Furthermore, I picked up a different bag from elsewhere at the weekend and they weren't as good (dense). Individual heat logs do last longer, so they'll work well in the room that we're not always in, as the burner just ticks over. Should have mentioned, we get 120 logs for £149 locally, delivered.
  8. I've ordered some heat logs for tomorrow to bulk out what we have left until the next proper delivery. Been running two burners this week in the evenings, so I'll need to rethink the delivery schedule for next year. Min of -0.8C here. The main river is dropping steadily now, from it's peak on Sunday.
  9. Simon King just mentioned next Wednesday on 5Live, which is going some. Not specifically for us, but just something to keep an eye on nationally.
  10. Caught the end of politics live when it was announced. The MP in blue scoffed and said 'we had snow in London yesterday' This is what we're dealing with.
