Wow! Woken up by a lot of lightning here in Hertfordshire.
-
Thunderstorms can always be relied upon to be very unpredictable at least!

Well, looks like there could be a few twists and turns tonight...

An interesting few days ahead.. However, i am not looking forward to the peak of the heat at all!
Storm wise it looks like some of us could still be affected tonight, although the elevated nature of them might mean a lot of us see distant lightning off to the west anyway,

What are the current thoughts on it's track, based on current radar images?
Most of the storms are yet to form, but around 9pm we might see them kicking-off in France.

Looks like an interesting couple of hours ahead for many in the region! Worth remembering that it looks like it will be a late night event, so we could be waiting till the early hours.

I can enjoy warm/hot weather but I am not looking forward to the high humidity which looks to be inevitable next week.

This rain definitely looks a bit further south than expected? Could inhibit those storms developing.

Lots of heavy showers developing south of the band!

Very heavy with big flakes falling in South Herts!

Really coming down now here in South Herts.

Still don't think we've found the pivot yet, all still seems to be sliding northwest atm, clear slot moving into south London now
Once we find the pivot will it somewhat stall before eventually sinking back south and east?
-
Looks to me like the pivot is underway now?
-
Snow just started to fall here.
-
Looks to me like some PPN is building as it passes over London/Thames atm.

Wind definitely starting to pick up here.

Yup, definitely getting into nowcast territory... There’s going to be a lot of radar watching tomorrow!

Well 21z ICON has a more active front and the pulse stays around longer as well however nothing north of the Thames on this run...and I do mean nothing. Kent does ok, as does all southern counties of the region. Broadly 3-6cms. But a very sharp cutoff which is pretty much M4-London.
Being just north of London is like a rollercoaster at the moment!

The tv forecasts are going to be a little out of date but that doesn’t mean they are any more right/wrong than the latest data ......fwiw, I have resigned myself to little of note here. We had our 2/3 cms last Tuesday night ........l
BA, keep the faith! I'm going to try to stay off here tomorrow and just let whatever happens surprise me!

Quite a notable dry slot on the 18z ICON this run, basically running along the M4 , literally a dusting, whilst either side it has at least 2-3cms.
Seems a little overdone but that's the 3rd run the ICON has shown this happen.
What's causing it? Also does the front get a bit of a kick/some energy explaining why there is a couple of cm's north of the M4?
