Bit of sleet in the rain here now. Looked at the M62 cameras and it looks to be snowing from about J27 (Birstall) westwards with a covering. Looks very white at J21 which I think is quite low level so not sure why that is... Maybe colder air moving in from the west?

Rain here in East Leeds at 90m asl and has been for a couple of hours. Was expecting better u must admit. Maybe it will turn to snow like Monday but I'm not hopeful, we seem quite close to the northern edge already.

Rapidly turned to rain at all levels it seems. Got about a cm but it looked nice and makes me want more! Some poor driving on display on my way to work; despite the motorway being completely clear people were going about 20mph!

To sum up this winter entirely, the window of opportunity for snow is coinciding with a big patch of light precipitation on the radar! We have a dusting, don't expect much more than that before it turns to rain in the next hour or so.

Just turned to snow here too (Garforth, just east of Leeds - 90m asl). Small flakes at the minute, bit of a dusting on cars already. Hope it carries on into daylight!

BANK! I'm surprised there are no warnings out for Monday morning, the fact there isn't any is dampening my enthusiasm somewhat!

Just had it here in Garforth, white over with hail and some big winds with it! Very impressive!

Yeah same, I assume it will get going again as the morning goes on and the front/squall approaches. Had some very heavy rain though.

Thanks for the reply, Paul, I didnt mean to sound overly critical. I guess different folk use it different ways, I usually just went from the homepage direct to the MOD or regional discussions if anything interesting was happening! I'll try out some of your suggestions above. Cheers again.

Hi, what's happened to the homepage please? I'm on mobile (Samsung galaxy s8) and previously it had the latest active forums linked towards the bottom which automatically took me to my first unread post in that forum. Now it has links to the latest posts, sometimes multiple posts in the same forum, which link to the last post in the forum, meaning I have to scroll back, trying to remember where I got up to last time I was on there. This, to me, seems a ludicrous step backwards. Is this just me as it seems unlikely it would be a deliberate change!?

Has anyone seen an image of the school he was sheltering at post-hurricane? If not, it's likely there is no Internet coverage there, but if so it may give an idea of how well it stood up to the storm at least

Is that the hurricane force wind area? It does say they only extend 30 miles from the centre. But it's still like a (upto) 60 mile wide tornado! ?

Note the new forecast track (which they say is on the west side of model consensus) keeps it out at sea now so probably only the Bahamas seeing landfall now. But it's looking bad for them!

So much lightning from this storm, the core of the rain seems to have passed about half a mile west after the earlier miss to the east but I'm calling this a successful day, much better than expected and it seems the storms are far more widespread within the warning area than we were led to believe (with some exceptions of course!)

Lots of in cloud forks of lightning in the stuff just to my SSW. Looks on a directish course to hit me. This is a great result today!

Huge flash and shotgun thunder then a long with a spattering of raindrops so big they look like sleet!

Looking south towards Wakefield... And looking southwest towards the south side of Leeds, a very nice tower shooting upwards. Expect this to form a shower soon close to Leeds...

Sharp showers on radar to the southeast of Leeds are elevated by the looks of it...
