  1. North Leeds must be getting battered right now! Despite being in one of the worst spots in west/south Yorkshire today, I've seen some good falling snow, less than a cm extra accumulation but here's hoping for much more over the next week and beyond!
  2. I think after the initial band, the main lot to the northeast seems to be heading for Leeds northwards. Whether any of the stuff east of Bridlongton area does anything, I've no idea!
  3. Well another very heavy burst on the back side of the band. All the roads and trees covered again but I don't know if there will be any more now, that big area doesn't seem to want to come south. Its heading for Wetherby northwards at the moment! 20210102_124727.mp4
  4. I'm a bit alarmed that I may be just too far south for that main blob to the northeast having been just north of the heaviest stuff so far. Need it to expand on the southern edge! Met office going for heavy snow all afternoon so that's the kiss of death!
  5. Heaviest it's been so far and most prolonged! Starting to cover the melted patches from Wednesday's fall now. Praying that big old mass to the northeast hits us too! 20210102_122628.mp4
  6. Just glanced out the window to find it chucking down. Briefly! Stopped again now edit: started again! 20210102_121441.mp4
  7. Damn it I'm about a mile too far north for this... Keep getting the odd heavier bit like this while looking south is obscured in the snow! 20210102_113522.mp4
  8. Heads up from around me (Garforth) down to Wakefield. It's looking very threatening and dark and the radar shows some intensification!
  9. I have to say looking west at the clouds heading away from me, that first band (or this section of it) is dying. Looks good for further north and south of here perhaps. My eyes are on the second lot near the coast!
  10. A dusting before it eased off. Not surprising as the ground is frozen solid with some snow left from during the week.
  11. Flurry of snow in Garforth (all snow, dry and powdery from the start) but a nightmare gap has now appeared in the first band! What a world! 20210102_104459.mp4
  12. Oh my God dont you just love it when this happens! Looking east from Garforth towards York/Selby...
  13. Must have been a good couple of inches here in Garforth this morning as the garden is still looking like a winter wonderland. Was only a cm or 2 at work in Cleckheaton which had almost gone when I left work at 2pm. Here's hoping for some more, bigger dumplings in the coming weeks!
  14. Heavy snow started just as I left home in Garforth. Was wet snow on M1 near the river Aire but proper snow once I reached the M62 with a covering all the way to work at Cleckheaton. Have outrun the heavy stuff so just flurries here atm but a dusting nevertheless.
  15. It's definitely sleet here, and light at that. The heavier stuff seems to be taking an age to arrive. Would expect some temporary snow when it does. Hopefully!
  16. Some flakes coming down in the lamp post light now though may be sleet. Frost has disappeared!
  17. Rain stopped again here and the moon is still shining! Heavier stuff looks to be incoming from York so will see what it falls as! I'm just shy of 100m asl so not expecting much. Will be driving past Birstall IKEA on the M62 at about 5:30 so may see a covering up there perhaps!
  18. So it's zero degrees here, thick frost everywhere and a bright full moon out my bedroom window. Oh, and it's raining! WTF! It will certainly be icy when I head out but how typical that we finally get a direct hit in precipitation and its rain!
  19. Some decent sized hailstones and a big crack of thunder in and around Garforth about an hour ago unexpectedly!
  20. True... However there's a warning out for today again inland at least and the forecasts I've seen show no storms anywhere near Yorkshire. Hopefully we get something before this all ends!
