  1. Nice unexpected storm here for the past half hour or so, clearing now- took this picture as it approached and developed. Some good lightning and rumbles from this one! bb
  2. Just took this as the storm cleared northwards towards York a couple of hours ago so thought I'd share (Doesn't compare to SnowCat's pic s though- awesome mate!) bb
  3. Well an unexpected covering to greet me on waking today! looks like a fairly heavy shower passed through most of yorkshire over the past few hours! How can this have been so totally un-forecast?! This has made it so much easier to get out of bed haha! BB
  4. We had a short light snow shower here about 20 minutes ago?!?!?! Not that I'm complaining! BB
  5. Oh dear, well thanks for that John, appreciate you taking the time to answer! At least I won't be getting myself excited in vain! BB
  6. Thanks John, I feel brave enough to ask something now- namely how are things looking for Friday night/Saturday, and also what impacts are we expecting from Sunday's Low? Hope I'm not sounding lazy, but I would really value the imput of those more experienced in interpreting the models. Cheers guys/girls BB
  7. These are from the 3rd February but I just remembered I had them saved lol! Action shots I will call them! BB Edit: I dont know what I'm doing wrong but the pics seem less massive when u right click and select "open in a new window" than if you just click on them!
  8. Well I think no matter what, most of us can say we've had a suprisingly good morning today! I'm keeping my eye on the shower over Cleckheaton way currently which if it holds together could hit me at about half 3 but we shall see! In the meantime, if anyone wants to see the vids from this morning showing the various stages of our quickfire 9cm, they're all on my youtube page which is http://www.youtube.c...er/bobsimpson82 And I'll leave you for today with these few pics from 9am-10am. Here's to the coming week and all the "possibilities" that it holds! BB
  9. No Problem Lewis mate and yeah I think We've done pretty good here, especially at only 80m asl! Here's a final pic for the time being showing the end result at 10-30am, half an hour after it finished properly snowing and only 3hrs30mins after it first started! Hope you're watching this, Vancouver! lol BB
  10. Here you go Lewis and anyone else who's interested, just stopped and these were taken at 10am exactly... 9cm total, 10cm on grass! And a bit of drifting too amazingly! All in all better than expected and quite extraordinary for just 3 hours of snow! BB
  11. Here are 3 videos from between 08:30 and 09:00... as I say don't try this at home kids (or you, JH- you're far too valuable to the forum to lose!) Driving... bad bad boy 4cm and the Rabbit From my bedroom window BB (8 cm now!)
  12. We have reached the 6cm warning upper limit, and its still coming down... some pics for your perusal, and coming soon- exclusive video of my drive back from the petrol station... don't try this at home kids! BB
  13. Morning all! and a lovely morning too- first video of the day taken about 15 mins ago- at 7am. The rabbit will be wanting a play out in in later so i'll be sure to video that too! BB
  14. Damnit.. anyone wanna go on a random pub in the snow drive?! lol only issue is u have to pay for petrol haha! btw, thanks to those who've answered my queries the past couple of evenings, expecially 10123 and lewis, always fun reading your guys thoughts! BB
  15. Evening all, Pennines looked nice from J27-26 of the M62 today- I had no covering at all last night but wanted to get peoples thoughts on the flash alert that has been spreading southwards from Aberdeen, through Edinburgh, and now as far as Durham from the met office? Obviously the futher east you are the better chance of seeing anything, but could the Vale of York channel anything a bit further inland? Or have I finally gone quite mad? Cheers guys and girls BB
  16. God i'm depressed- its been drizzling for ages, the monotony broken only by the odd burst of rain! Am i really so low down?! Help me 10123 or anyone! Send me some snizzle at least ha! bb
  17. Ooh hi, I know you weren't asking me but I'm in Garforth! And I'm patiently looking North/Northeast....! BB
  18. Can I come and stay at someone's house please!?! Lol I'm jealous of your snow and I hate Xmas with the family- especially when there's a thaw going on!!
  19. Hi all hope we had a good Christmas! Anyway, yes a bit of a thaw over the past 12 hours or so but still a good cover of snow, I'd say 4-5cm here which is only a couple less than we had Thursday morning so no melt-a-thon by any means! I'm hoping the atmosphere on here today is gonna be a bit more amiable as there seemed to be a bit of in-fighting yesterday lol! I'm no expert but I still expect some good snows this coming week, and look forward to hearing what you more knowledgable guys and girls on here think of it all. In the meantime, the met office 3-5 and 5-16 day outlooks seem pretty good to me! Have a good boxing day all, and fingers crossed for a beast this week! bb
  20. Sleety rain, turned quickly to rain here- bit disappointing but given what we've had and what may still be to come I'm not in a complaining mood! Enjoy it tonight to all those who get more snow!! Merry Christmas bb
  21. Finally my faith is rewarded and in garforth it's been snowing for half an hour- big flakes at first, smaller now, but looking at the radar, there's more heavy stuff coming- 1cm of fresh snow after 20 mins so a 2 or 3 hour spell and this could be great! odds on for the biggest accumulation of the past week! Yay!! bb
  22. Just to report, that shower was a heavy sleety snow here in Garforth which slushified the 0.5cm that appeared during the day while I was working- I'm sure it will freeze again though! Temps shot up to 1.5c but are now edging back down- unfortunately all the showers seem to have vanished!? Anyone know why? lol cheers bb
  23. Many thanks for that, appreciate it... i'm gonna lie in bed with a book and put raintoday radar on full screen on the comp while i read a book! I'm willing the showers to hold it together! Night all! bb
  24. Oh really? Cool thanks for that! Just out of interest where can I find my local temps/dewpoints etc, just for future reference? In the meantime i'm going to scrutinize the radar to try and find the inevitable gap in the showers which will surely head straight for me!! bb
