  1. Im hoping that pulse coming out of Wales comes this way lol, i think its going to be one of those nights on the radar watch.
  2. It started off as heavy rain here too but gradually turned to proper sleet with actual bigish flakes coming down so you may have an intresting next hour or so
  3. Had some very marginal sleet and snow which has just cleared away, started off as rain and gradually turned to sleet and then flicked between heavy sleet and heavy snow for about half an hour. Had a couple of light snow showers this morning which made the place look as though icing sugar had been thrown about.
  4. Easing off here now but still sleeting/snowing lightly we've had all the precipitation types today lol. Snow this morning then rain and hail, then sleet which kept flicking between sleet and snow. Temp. 2.3c DP 2c. Where abouts is tonights snowfall supposed to be developing/arriving from?
  5. Proper sleet here now, almost turning fully to snow at times.
  6. Turning to snow now some bigish flakes coming down, temp 2.9c DP 2c come on!
  7. After some light snow this morning we now have heavy sleet. Temp 3.2c DP 2c. Hoping it may turn to snow before it dies out but i think it may be a case of seeing what happens tonight.
  8. Just woken up to find its SNOWING lol only lightly but the stuff coming down is starting to settle. Temp is 1.4c DP -1c. Iwill props turn more sleety later i expect
  9. Temp seems to have levelled out here been -2.6c for nearly 2 hours. Is the heavy precip supposed to move South-Westwards after the NAE chart above or sink south? Looks as though some aeas could get a right pasting if those charts were to vertify. P.S Has anybody else had trouble reading the fourms on here the last couple of hours or so as i don't know if my internet is playing up again
  10. Met Office have issued an advisory for most of the south west in regards to Wednesdays event (for those who may not have seen it) though they do say they are uncertain. http://www.metoffice...t_warnings.html
  11. Hey I was just about to have a look at their forecast, it would be brill if it snowed tommorow im sure you'll have a fair bit up there lol. Wednesday looks fantastic if it trakes further west. But i agree time will tell...hopefully it will be all around lol. EDIT: its -2.2c now with DP -4c
  12. Thats looks stunning Thanks Ian, Can i just ask are the different coloured snow flakes the difference in how heavy it will be E.g. Blue = light, Green = Moderate ect? It looks as though there could be alot of snow for some areas on Wednesday and maybe a few flakes here too lol.
  13. What a nice pleasant suprise for Wednesday thats popped up i thought the models had dropped the idea or was it always progged? Could get maybe a couple of inches of the stuff if it were to come off which would suit me fine.
  14. Looks pretty awesome for Weds morning for many areas across the midlands and the south and we may get some heavy fluffy stuff too looking at the latest runs. But overall staying very very cold, will be keeping my fingers crossed.
  15. Brrr its cold -1.8c now with a DP of -3c. Could be on for -3c again tonight perhaps even lower Just seen the local forecast on itv, and they are going for rain for Devon and Cornwall with sleet on the higher ground. I hope to god they are wrong But still i think we will see some snow this week with any luck.
  16. After struggling to get any higher than 1c its back down to 0.6c now with the DP flickering between -2/3c. I must say im very impressed by how cold its been today i though it was going to be at least 2-3c. Hopefully -2/3c beckons again tonight with some wintry flurries
  17. Coldest night of the winter so far last night/this morning as it got down to -3c exact, -0.9c currently with clear skies Hopefully colder temps to come with maybe if we're lucky some snow.
  18. Its only 2.4c here atm as well, in fact we've only dropped lower than 0c twice since this cold spell started in mid-December, i find it very odd im not sure if the sea has some involvement in this. I've just watched the countryfile forecast and it looks amazing i've never seen or heard a forecaster saying "don't panic" in their forecast. However in regards to the cold front he said that it would be of rain and sleet the further south west you go, but it looks to me as if its cold enough for it fall as snow everywhere the uppers are way below -5c for Tuesday/Wednesday even if there was a warm sector it would still fall as snow surely.
  19. I think it looks possible for quite a cold Janurary this year as well as Feb. Starting off cold/very cold and remaining so for the first couple of weeks with the risk of some very very cold weather during the latter part, before slowly turning less cold and eventually milder from the south just after mid-month it may well stay quite cold/cool across northern areas before turning very cold across most areas with avengence during the latter part of the month and this could well set us up for Feb. I think its going to be another wet month especailly across the east, though it will be drier in the west during the first half. My lucky punt for this month (although i feel quite strange predicting it so low) is 2.2c.
  20. Yes the temperature here too has dropped slightly throughout the day, its now 5.7c it was 6.8c at 11.00am this morning and it was around 8c in the early hours. Too early to say but i think maybe the surface cold is not being pushed away so quickly.
  21. Although the GFS has gone off on a tanjent i think we could cut it some slack as it picked up the last cold spell up a good week before it came into fruitition, before the other models picked up on it and has now picked this upcoming cold spell before the rest so it seems to have a nack for picking out an upcoming pattern but its just abit too progressive to bring the breakdowns in. Anyhows i must say tonights charts are amazing and we could be on the verge of something very special but of course we'll have to wait and see how it pans out.
  22. Personally i think either a flurry of sleet/snow a shower of sleet or snow or lying snow from previous falls from days before all count as a white xmas.
  23. I must say this progged event came out of nowhere and would really be awesome it it manages to come off for everyone in the snow starved south west, i've always wanted to experiance a proper blizzard in the uk with deep snow, although i dont think we'll get deep snow here by the sea maybe an inch or so if we are lucky but still i think swings and roundabouts are yet to come.
  24. Well i don't know if anywhere further north has had the same today, but i've never seen such bad ice in all my life as this morning. We had some sleet/freezing rain first thing this morning and temps were just above freezing point so it just turned everything into ice almost instantly. When i got to Newton Abbot everywhere was coated in a thick glaze of ice absolute nightmere, it was like walking on shiny, slippery glass but at the same time just increadible, i've never seen such thick ice nor seen it so widespread, I dont have any pics unfortunatly to busy trying to stand on two feet lol. Id almost say it was a freak event.
  25. Come back home to find a nice dusting of snow in the shaded areas this evening from a heavy snow shower this morning which arrived after i'd just left for work . Still those showers in the channel appear to be tilting to a north eastery direction so maybe we may still have some hope with them moving across us . I think im just straw clutching now lol. Reached a max of 5.4c today which im not convinced at considering the dusting is still there i would have thought it would have melted.
