  1. Surely Friday should see some better action in East Berks/West London? Had the odd snow shower (Canary Wharf) since yesterday but nothing to write home about. Heavier one today which settled and stuck to stuff. It was like a white out and then clear!
  2. Almost -2c which I guess is impressive for here at this time of evening in late Feb. Or mid-winter even given the average.
  3. I’m glad I’m not the only one who appears to have had very little snow. Had better without any beast from the east... Certainly is nippy mind!
  4. How heavy are we looking at? Is the SE actually going to be affected. Weather warnings seem to be for more Northern parts with the higher percentages.
  5. Only heard snippets on radio today re the rain due etc. It all seemed like it was going to be torrential and thundery. On closer reading and what not it seems it's not going to affect this area to any significant extent. More the usual sort of rainfall? Today has been fine anyway and without rain, at least that I noticed. The talk of torrential thundery downpours intrigued me merely for it sounding like an unusual weather event for us. Seems anything as such would be further North? Thought I'd just see if someone could actually clarify the situation?
  6. Well after that nice spell we had I said we probably will not see another settled/warm spell lasting as long again this summer! I still believe this with maybe the odd warm & sunny day or two but overall I feel we have seen the longest/hottest spell of summer 2009. We will continue to see what we are currently with the odd day or two hitting 23c - 25c in SE. Nothing over 28c again this summer.
  7. Wish we would have a 1976 summer. I wasn't around in those days! Would love to see that in this country!
  8. Wasn't it more of just one long spell.....? I don't know, I wasn't here for the full summer. Kind of WHY I asked the question...!
  9. Will we see any further warm spells though.......that will be in some minds! This could be it and I believe this is it. I don't think we will get another spell lasting this long again this summer. Even we may have well experienced out highest summer temperatures. Now I dread the jet coming down and the rest of summer becoming wetter and cooler with conditions turning average at best. This current spell of weather is awesome and I'd love to see a fast reload but this is the UK and I'm aware that these conditions aren't regular for our Island. DATA question!! Does anyone know of a summer where we had more than 1 spell of above average warmth and sun lasting 5 consecutive days or more?
  10. Indeed most of the 30c days recorded in the UK, I believe, are in July/Aug rather than now. However, I think we will struggle to get a set up like this again this summer, in order to get anything higher. Maybe a one or two day spell but at best temperatures similar to current recordings. I'd go as far as saying I believe this will be our longest and warmest spell of summer 2009.
  11. So looking at the BBC forecast it'll be sunnier tomorrow than it was today. Surely it'll cloud up like it did today and yesterday....... Still getting warm quickly though. Temperature wise I think about the same as today. The GFS is showing 27c for tomorrow yet for today it was showing 28c. So will it actually be less sunny tomorrow? Or will the day be less warm due to a cooler night, because right now it looks like it'll be a clearer night than last night!? EDIT; Lovely evening, calm, pleasant and with the whiff of BBQ in the air! Sadly England are loosing to Germany but what else was going to happen LOL!
  12. There's been a nice break in the cloud and the 1550z at Heathrow is reporting 31c. Now that'll be rounded up so it must be, at least, and probably is 30.5c Whatever though it's gorgeously warm!!! :o
  13. Heathrow back up to 29.5c after dropping to 29c and Charlwood 30c on the dot.
  14. Yes indeed which is what I just said. The temp then dropped a bit and has now increased again. Due to the cloud cover that has popped up!
  15. I think it was rounded up from 29.6c
  16. London Heathrow station is now reporting 29c, more cloud about though. So what happens from here is to be seen....
  17. 30c, not today, MAYBE tomorrow....
  18. Well it started sunny but as the morning progressed cloud began to build up. The sun has been in and out. However, now just like yesterday here comes even more cloud, there goes the sun! And yes the temps have dropped!
  19. It is warmer further in to Greater London and the city but yes. I feel this cloud will hinder temps and will prevent us hitting anything over 30c....
  20. Up with London.......Heathrow reported 23c back at 10am, it's now 25c there....
  21. BBC London forecast for tomorrow. They said there's a 40% chance of a downpour and they said the temperature 'might' get to the mid 20's. In the downpours it will be more like 20c! So it is cert that thundery showers are on for tomorrow.
  22. That would be nice - for me at least anyway. Although I just feel we will record a max temperature of 27c/28c or maybe even 29c in a favoured spot. Rain or thunder showers will spoil the higher temps I feel.....
  23. No heatwave.......never really was going to be though! I'm going for a max temperature of possibly 26c!
