  1. Temperture fallen to 0.1c from 0.7c which is good:) here that is
  2. Its 0.2c here and falling in the North of Cardiff. Whats my chances of snow? Are the tempertures likely to rise?
  3. Just watched Dereks forecast, looking good saturday night, beats me why no other bbc forecast are showing differnt:S looks good for us in the east.
  4. Looks interesting, lets hope so! Im hopeing for snow before Feb, dont want my flight to the US in feb being canceled lol, I will decent snow out there:)
  5. So whats happening?:S Is there going to be snow in the Cardiff and South Wales area during the weekend or not? And when would it likely to be? I know next week looks interesting with a battle ground scenario. Its currently -2.9c here in the North Of Cardiff very cold indeed with a dusting of snow on all surfaces from earlier as if the case with alot of Rhondda Cynon Taff, Northern Cardiff and Caerphilly.
  6. Snow here in the North of Cardiff at 190meters. Stuck everywhere, 1-2cm, was like a blizzard:D cleared away now and the temperture has plumited a whole 1c in the last 15mins. Derek Brokway im afraid you got it wrong:P
  7. WHAT A RUN! Well happy with this looks like all areas are going to face a very cold artic weather if this goes to plan.
  8. Under the Feb 09 set up, here in the hills of northern Cardiff we had 12inches of snow and in places 2ft drifts. The SW/s.wales got the heaviest snow fall amounts in the U.K. So totaly agree, you only want a rain band pushing up from the Atlantic meeting the cold east winds and bang, snow storm, i can remember feb 2009 well, im 15 and ive never seen anything like it, it was comeing down thicker than id seen it come down in New England, USA.
  9. Just to say just because its an easterly doesnt mean the east will get the most snow. Correct me if im wrong but back in the Feb Snow storms, S.Wales and the West Country got the most amount of snow there was 22inches in parts of the South West of the U.K., Im looking forward to this cold, looks very interesting indeed.
  10. I go to these parts every year, Im off to NY 10 weeks today, NYC is cold but when you go to Vermont be preperd to be shocked, the coldest its been there when I been there is -31c and the windchills you dont want to know! Theres always around 1-2ft of snow on the ground most places in Vermont during Jan and Feb. Your not guaranteed snow in NYC though. At the moment, the snow is not very good and all the ski resorts are opening tommorow in the NE, so as you can see by this cam they are making snow. However Wunderground got 100% chance of snow today and tonight for Killington. http://www.killington.com/winter/multimedia/webcam/index.html My friends I met in Stowe, VT last year from Texas have snow in southern Texas yesterday and they very rarely have snow.
  11. A main south Wales valleys road has closed after a number of accidents and ice on the carriageway, the heads of the valleys road near Merthyr Tydfil asmorning.
  12. Snow can be seen on mountains in distance towards Merthyr and the Brecon Beacons. Temperture is plummiting in South Wales. Here at 190meter ASL. temperture = -1.7c windchill = -3c conditions = clear sky, air frost, colder night than what was forecasted. Cardiff-Wales Airport reporting tempertures of 34f/1c, Im about 17miles from there. Update = Cardiff-Wales airport temperture now 37f/3c but temperture is still droping on my weather station but slowing.
  13. Temp -0.4c and falling:) here in Rural North Cardiff. I think -3.1/-3.4c here.
  14. lmao, it was funny winding him up:L he only lives 5miles from me he kept asking about snow:L i had snow and freezing tempertures like all through the winter while in cardiff it was jst slightly above the temperture range to get snow:P he got snow in the end though and lots of it my friends in Cardiff though told me it melted the next day it stuck around here for 2 weeks:L
  15. We have down here in Cardiff in all 3 months of the summer 6c in June, 8c in July and 9c in August, thats offical weather station. Where i live if you know Cardiff at all there is a hilly area in the North border of the county where land rises to 1007ft, the temperture here reached 7.1c the other night, constantly getting below 10c on clear night i do live in on a steep valley though which doesnt get much sun and it gets very cold here in winter and snow sticks around for days nd days. For me first ground frost around 28th september here i would say and below freezing 15th October, first snow end of november.
  16. Oh, I knew that but its good to see the first 0 on the 850hpa over* Southern Britain it means were getting closer to a ground frost. I ve seen tempertures here drop down to just under 5c here already this month under clear skies, I usualy get a ground frost in september due to my alltuide and a few snow showers later october:)
  17. cant wait for the first frosts of the auturm. 0 has appeared on the charts for the first time in Southern Britain on the 2nd of September.
  18. A max temperture of 18c here near Cardiff, currently 7.6c and falling fast. Coldest night for a while.
  19. I think records should be kept for the North and West like Ireland, Wales and Scotland where land and climate is cooler than that of the SE. I has 5 snow storms this year all in the 2 weeks of 1st feb to 14th feb where 40oed inches fell collectively, imbetween the snowstorms alot melted then it built it self up again the average snow fall i toke was around 12inches but i had drifts of nearly 25inches as shown in my sig. Which was the highest amount of snowfall in my lifetime anyway but im only 15 lol but my dad whos 50 hadnt seen snow in the UK like it since the 1980s.
  20. Weather for Cardiff Ashes Test 2009 day 1 - 18c day 2 - 17c day 3 - 19c day 4 - 20c day 5 - 19.5c lost play - 182minuites.
  21. A line of shower prehabs thundery are moving across the Irish Sea in a westly direction over South Wales Valleys, Swansea, Carmathenshire and Pembrokshire seem to be missing Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan at the moment.
  22. The top right of the picture shows Cardiff North and Rhondda Cynon Taff very dark indeed as it is lightning here now.
