  1. I think they still use 1961-90 for some reason.
  2. Let's hope it says mild. Last winter they said it was going to be mild - it was anything but. This summer they have forecasted a barbeque one - not really so far!
  3. Very cool, dull and not too wet today - perfect
  4. Cold is much easier to cope with I think. Just shove a few extra layers on and it's a cheap and effective way to keep warm. Heat you can't really escape unless you have a swimming pool, air conditioning or a walk-in fridge. It is much nicer to sleep in cold as well, just get cosied up in a thick duvet. In heat sleeping (or trying to) is just hell.
  5. That's the thing though, the reason why many people in this country don't like very hot or very cold weather is because we aren't used to it. In southern European countries, houses are built for the heat and now many people have air conditioning. If I had air con I wouldn't mind heat at all!
  6. Where was this thread during the hot spell, I could have filled it in 3 days
  7. Oh you can indeed Thanks!
  8. The NW radar is an excellent tool, no doubt about it. But is there any possibility of having a variable zoom rather than only either zoomed in or zoomed out? Would be quite useful.
  9. It be Fantasy Island, a time period where models can throw up very favourable scenarios, but being so far away the chances are they will never come to fruition.
  10. What about the spell at New Year? On New Year's Day we went to Telford, was bitterly cold and completely overcast with fog in places. All the trees along the M54 were coated in white.
  11. I don't particularly mind boring seasons. I love boring summers (like today, dull, cloudy and cool). Nice and comfortable today.
  12. Good job it didn't land on his head or he could have ended up with much worse than nasty bruising!
  13. I don't think I have emptied it since I joined
  14. My jealousy is becoming unbearable now...
  15. The Snow and Cold Rampers Association I believe...
  16. Absolutely smashing photo, looks like a right beast that one does!
  17. Didn't know I had so many PMs - 63! All gone now, looking forward to the upgrade. Any idea of when it is going to happen Paul?
  18. In the style of Homer Simpson - "BORING!" Looks like the Midlands won't be getting much today, the 4 hour accumulation on the NW radar is very frustrating.
  19. Sun is breaking through here, hopefully this should kickstart something.
  20. I think they are shying away after getting it wrong last winter
  21. Some heavy and large showers heading my way, could be interesting
  22. I like AC gloom, sometimes it can bring really nice frosts, coating the trees in white. It also brings ice days (not to everyone's tastes but I like low temperatures at any time of year) and everything is perfectly still and quiet. Obviously staying for a long period of time it does get a bit boring but it brings a true wintry feel like it did around New Year, I got -8.9c out of it anyway.
  23. Pretty average temperature wise, but very wet, I think it is one of my wettest months on record. High temp...27.1c Low temp...3.3c Average temp...14.6c High humidity...94% Low humidity...28% High dewpoint...19.0c Low dewpoint... - High pressure...1027.7hpa Low pressure...998.9hpa Precipitation...129.0mm
  24. Really quite warm here too, a pleasant 24.5c. Shame it wasn't around this temperature all last week really.
