  1. I think that should be the benchmark for a thunderstorm, when Sky dies then it is officially a thunderstorm!
  2. Quite a bit of thunder, but not a great deal of rain. Still, a storm is a storm!
  3. Throwing it down now with thunder and lightning. What a great way to end a hot day, should freshen things up for tonight
  4. Jesus christ!! Just had a bolt of lightning literally yards from my house, scared the life out of me!!
  5. Several distant rumbles of thunder and now a flash of lightning.
  6. Hearing thunder now. Not looking at the radar as I will just get angry! Breeze is picking up and the sun has gone.
  7. I just know that this is going to miss me by less than a mile, going dark to my south and huge towering cumulonimbus approaching, and I think I can hear very, very distant thunder.
  8. This is going to be a nailbiting photo finish :o
  9. That cell is definitely heading NNE, if you run the animation for the last 2 hours on the NW radar you will see it.
  10. Hit 27.1c now, equal high temperature for this year.
  11. Wow, the only storm in the country and it seems to be heading straight for me! No doubt it will die out though. But once again it has just popped up out of nowhere!
  12. Haven't beaten my record high for the year yet, 26.6c at the moment, but it feels very uncomfortable nonetheless. Edit: 26.9c!
  13. Hot, humid, sunny and sticky - to summarise it is absolutely horrible. Just simply walking from the bus stop and I am dripping with sweat. Really not pleasant in the slightest.
  14. Nice pics there UKSupercell, especially like the flooded garden pic, must have been seriously heavy rain!
  15. I know, it dragged it's heels and collapsed. Just light rain here at the moment and I think that is all I am going to get today.
  16. Hmm, seems to be going NNE, needs to be directly north for my liking! Still, it will almost certainly grow bigger, if it turns out to be like the Manchester one then
  17. Now one just south of Birmingham, gone from nothing to intense in 10 minutes! The next hour could be fun/
  18. Looks like a heavy downpour/storm has gone up in western Shropshire on the 13.40 radar.
  19. And remember, the Met Office warnings aren't valid until 2pm, so hopefully it should kick off within the next few hours, the sun is now beaming down here so fingers crossed.
  20. Just a bit of sunshine and the temperature has shot up to 21.7c - and is still rising. Humidity is fairly high too though at 67%: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation...sp?ID=I90579761
  21. That is what is making me slightly unconvinced. It is either anaprop or a very heavy and very slow moving storm, which will cause a few problems for those underneath it! Whatever it is, it is growing and others are starting to pop up around it. Edit: It seems to be heading north, albeit very slowly.
  22. Sun is finally out now, much earlier than yesterday. Hopefully this will kickstart some tasty convection.
  23. Hello Mr Crazy Snowfan! Wow that does sound bad, hope your doggy is alright! Next time you have a nasty storm send it up here, I will gladly have it!
  24. Looks like something has sparked off just south of Manchester, either that or anaprop. And Mr Crazy Snowfan is posting by the looks of it!
