  1. That is what is making me slightly unconvinced. It is either anaprop or a very heavy and very slow moving storm, which will cause a few problems for those underneath it! Whatever it is, it is growing and others are starting to pop up around it. Edit: It seems to be heading north, albeit very slowly.
  2. Sun is finally out now, much earlier than yesterday. Hopefully this will kickstart some tasty convection.
  3. Hello Mr Crazy Snowfan! Wow that does sound bad, hope your doggy is alright! Next time you have a nasty storm send it up here, I will gladly have it!
  4. Looks like something has sparked off just south of Manchester, either that or anaprop. And Mr Crazy Snowfan is posting by the looks of it!
  5. Nope! It was literally a few miles south of me, I am sure you know the frustration! I looked at the NW radar accumulation, and just a nudge south it was a soaking, here it was bone dry. My grandad in Birmingham said it was quite bad. Still plenty of oppurtunities this week though hopefully!
  6. And that is why next week is going to be hell. Imagine this but several degrees warmer, it will not be pleasant in the slightest! And yes dogs32, fantastic video!
  7. I got 33.5mm in 6 hours! Absolutely threw it down all evening.
  8. Calm down!! The lightning detector is not 100% accurate, I have had lightning that has not been detected on it numerous times. And Andy, the lure has made me buy a Lite subscription for the forthcoming heatwave
  9. Things are kicking off in the East Midlands now on the NW radar, run the animation for the last 2 hours and you will see how quickly they sparked off.
  10. Anybody watching the Firestorm one? Absolutely incredible. Underneath his car just randomly set on fire while he was filming! This series is fantastic. You don't get much decent TV, but this is really great stuff.
  11. Anybody see Carol Kirkwood this morning on Breakfast with her stupid hats? She looked ridiculous and it was an absolute waste of the licence payer's money. Just shove the forecasters in a studio where we want to see them. We want to watch the weather forecast - not what hat she is wearing.
  12. I don't like the fact that they always have the Breakfast forecasts outside in the Blue Peter garden - why? I want to see the weather map cover the whole screen, not half of it. If there is a huge dumping of snow or it is a scorching day then doing forecasts on location is fine, but I have long got sick and tired of it.
  13. Crikey last winter only just seems to have finished Not sure, I thought it was usually around late June, but it should be soon anyway.
  14. I don't think I am going to get into double figures today! Just 7.7c, more like January than June.
  15. Seems to have calmed down now. We have now had 2 inches of rain in 2 days. I don't think I had that in the whole of May!
  16. Under a very intense rainstorm. Had flashes of lightning but the rain rate is the main feature. We have had 20mm in half an hour with a rain rate of 100 mm/hr.
  17. This is the heaviest rain I have ever seen. Topped 100mm/hr with 8mm in 15 mins. Decent sized hail, several flashes of lightning and "sheet rain". Temperature has plummeted too.
  18. Shame the new system couldn't be used just yet, but I am sure it is worth the wait! And in winter especially this forecast will be very popular I think.
  19. Overcast and cool - much more comfortable than yesterday
  20. I thought it was fantastic, wasn't one of the typical dumbed down "documentaries" that are so common now, can't wait for the hurricane one next week. And that camerabloke was a bit mad as well, wasn't the best idea by opening the door!
  21. Reached 27.1c, but because of the lack of breeze it was very uncomfortable. Will be glad to see the cooldown. Clouding over now so it is a bit more bearable.
  22. Average temp...11.9c Max temp...24.6c Min temp...2.8c Rainfall...49.0mm Max pressure...1031.0mb Min pressure...997.2mb Max DP...14.8c Min DP...? (For some reason my weather station has -73.3c as my min...) Max humidity...94% Min humidity...33% More data can be found here: http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation...graphspan=month
  23. Reached 26.9c now, becoming uncomfortably warm outside as there is absolutely no breeze. Highest temperature of 2009 so far.
  24. Warmest day of the year so far here. Reached 25.3c earlier. 24.5c now but wall to wall sunshine and little breeze, feels lovely out there.
  25. Reached 23.8c today, not quite beating the 24.6c from Friday but still good nonetheless.
