  1. At the moment tiny changes in detail could make all the difference. And we have all seen that things haven't gone the way they should have in some instances this week!
  2. You could get a right dumping. If current forecasts are anything to go by, your lower limit could be 6 inches of the stuff, and with very strong winds there could be drifting. But it is a long time yet and it could all change.
  3. Well, this is finally enough to force me to purchase the NW radar for the coming month, I feel it could be very useful indeed! Some parts of the south Midlands will easily get a foot of snow on Tuesday.
  4. Ah here we go now. The precipitation obviously popped down to the shops or something as it is now starting to reform, regroup and reintensify. Hopefully cloud cover should start to spill in very soon. Countryfile looked interesting for tomorrow night. Little too close for comfort for my location, but I am sure I will get something. The South Midlands could see some exceptionally heavy snowfall and blizzards. An early warning has been issued by the Met Office, predicting between 5-10cm and upto 20cm on the hills. I think it could even be more than that in some spots. The warning spreads as far north as Derbyshire. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_...t_warnings.html
  5. The PPN has now pretty much completely died out. It is going to take a hell of a pep up now for the Midlands to get anything half decent.
  6. If there is already snow on the ground then any type of snow should settle fairly easily. I have just looked at the radar and I wish I hadn't. Drizzle and cloud anyone?
  7. I thought it was just happening to me because when I get back online nobody mentions it!
  8. Yes let's just leave that out! I think the Met Office are just playing the waiting game, after a number of big mistakes the past week I am sure they are being ultra cautious.
  9. This afternoon's event isn't really that big, and inch or 2 at the most, and the band of PPN is rapidly deteoriorating over Wales, so I don't think it really warrants a warning if I'm honest.
  10. Read the website. The advisories are updated by 1pm daily.
  11. I have still around an inch on the ground away from areas that have permanent sunlight and salty roads. That's something I am concerned about. Less than an hour ago it was below -2c, now it is -0.3c.
  12. I am hoping to get about an inch or 2, just to top up my current cover really.
  13. BBC forecast looked very promising. I am right on the edge of the snow for Tuesday but I don't care! Just a small budge north and it's game on. Tonight looks good too. Could I possibly have 10 days of snow cover?! And yes Andy, I have thought that. The BBC forecast just showed the PPN for 3pm where it pretty much is now!
  14. I hope you're right, but the latest Met Office radar doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence if I'm honest.
  15. Fantastic Iceberg. Somerset provided me with the most snow I have ever seen on low ground (on high ground was 3 feet in the Peak District!). 55cm in Okehampton is incredible. And people say this cold spell isn't that great...
  16. Right then, shall we take bets on how long it takes the band of rain/sleet/snow to be destroyed by the Welsh mountains? B)
  17. Welcome to the forum Joe, nice to see another Cannock Chase Netweatherer! We should get some tomorrow night, but Monday night/Tuesday morning could be another one of those "misses us by a few miles" - but it is all up in the air at this stage.
  18. In certain places I would go as far as saying that it is the most exceptional in decades. When was the last time Devon had more than half a metre of snow? Will be interesting if anyone could drag that stat out!
  19. I think I may be investing in the Net Weather radar for a month...
  20. Even I think it was a bit pathetic, we only got about 2 inches of snow at the most apparently. But apparently, when school reopened for Wednesday, several people were taken to hospital because morons put stones in snowballs - so maybe that was a factor in reclosing it.
  21. My only worry is that if we get much more snow, we will have even more snow days at school (I have missed 3 of them the past week!) and half term could get cancelled. They have already cancelled the staff training day this week.
  22. You have been right on several occasions this winter Andy, let's hope this continues for tomorrow! Met Office and BBC have got plenty wrong so far.
