  1. Back to spring, I sure wish I had a garden to enjoy right now. I can't believe all the flats around here that have balconies with nobody using them. I'd give anything for a bit of outdoor space!
  2. As reef suggests, blocked doesn't necessarily mean cold. You need the blocking in the "right" place.
  3. A school of thought at work is because we're in a solar minimum, and therefore an increased tendency for blocking patterns.
  4. We certainly seem to be entering cycles of continuous rainfall and then long dry spells. What happened to frequent spells of moderate rainfall? Since the incarceration/lockdown started, we can't have had more than 3 days of meaningful rainfall.
  5. One of the driest and sunniest springs I can ever remember, sods law.
  6. It's been a very underwhelming season so far and looks like remaining so for the next week or so, Tours 1 and Tour 2 wouldn't have been classics!
  7. My flight for Tour 4 was cancelled this morning. Phoned BA this afternoon, initially going through the options on the number quoted in the email but then got cut off. I then tried the same number with no options pressed and got through to a friendly lady after about 10 mins. Refund being processed now, but could take a few weeks to a month. Very painless, let's hope the refund hits my account in a timely manner too.
  8. You should be entitled to a refund if one of the legs has been cancelled. BA are an atrocious company so you might have to fight for it, but don't let them fob you off! My flights for Tour 4 are still standing, can't wait for the fun and games dealing with that in a few weeks (also BA).
  9. Only forecasting staff left in my office. To be honest I'm glad, I couldn't deal with being stuck in my flat for an indefinite period. Will change if any of us become ill though.
  10. Went to Tesco before work this morning, no problems at all. Probably busier than it would usually be at 7am but shelves were well stocked, if not full.
  11. 100,000,000 million? 100,000,000,000,000? Blimey.
  12. I suspect it is very much independent of the ban. That is, even if the ban was lifted the govt would advise against travel like they have done with Spain and Italy.
  13. Well that's storm chasing knackered this year then.
  14. This is starting to concern me a little too. The suggestion that these things would be restocked in a few days just isn't happening.
  15. A villa on the east coast. I suspect travel bans will become increasingly commonplace over the coming days.
  16. My holiday to Fuerteventura has been cancelled and I highly doubt storm chasing will be happening this year. Ho hum.
  17. So keep washing our hands and don't go on cruises...but still let flights in from Spain and Italy. Cool.
  18. Just read that US citizens aren't affected by the ban. What nonsense!
  19. But we still have freedom of movement with those Schengen countries, and we're not faring any better than the rest of Europe as a whole. Just an odd omission really.
  20. I agree with the flight ban in principle, but why on earth is the UK not included? It makes no sense.
  21. Because my parents chose to have me.
  22. It's alright, the government is having a meeting tomorrow.
  23. We're beyond that point now. We were beyond that when they started shipping all British expats back from China.
