Yeah, it was considerably warmer in the house yesterday evening after a hot day. The house is doing the job it was designed to do and retaining the heat.

At least it is cooling more at night now and the warmth in the house can be mitigated more by an open window whereas in the June hot spell, open windows provided practically no benefit overnight.

I don't know about that, our house is typically too hot in summer and too cold in winter and very hard to get it heated up properly. As for the Early June spell, that was more tollerable for me personally because it was 20-22c in the sun, nice windy breeze to take any edge off and the house never really overheated. Anyway, lovely to get this weather after a naff couple of months. More of this please! 🙂

  2. I see the outlook for our neck of the woods is absoute tosh. Never ending trough stuck over us with a weak ass ridge building in again temporarily, giving the south east lots to smile about. At this rate we are going be stuck with trash through the rest of the year and no doubt winter will double down on a total washout.

Yes we've had a couple of nice days but seeing the model output recently is depressing.

It's raining but not heavy here. Dodged a bullet, the heaviest rain looks to be a little north.  Places like Rochdale Todmorden, Burnley, Hebden Bridge will be getting a soaking no doubt.

Bloody freezing though isn't it. Feels like a cold wet gloomy November

  4. Hi all, so the gloomy weather is prevailing aftetall 😆 but not very wet. Just a bit of drizzle here and there and still warm at 20.2c

My biggest issue is the damn slugs getting relentless, even during the day trying to sabotage my broccoli, reddish and tomatoes, digging under my cage!

I wouldn't mind but they ain't falling for my tactical beers supplies either lol

  5. Very nice weather today. Broken cloud but mostly sunny and a cool wind but very comfortable to be out and about. Bit like the start of June. I don't mind westelies like this at all, especially with the temporary rainy spells and days of sun.

My god reading the model thread you'd think the typical Atlantic rain train was coming with endless gloomy wet and windy weather but that's not the case. Seems pretty similar to now. Fresh winds, the odd showers some days but plenty of sun in between. No baking heatwave but not terrible either.

It looks like the heaviest of the rain was to our north and south with a split across here so we ended up with a short period of heavyish rain but nothing torrential and no thunder or lightening.

a disappointing end to what had been a lovely day.

It did actually thunder a few times here at the start of the rain. Nothing special really. Temp instantly dropped by 8c.
