These big events are hyped up but in the end a lack of sunshine puts paid to the big storms.
Yes, plenty of rain very little in the way of thunder and storminess. The rain has well n truly done its job now so it can sod off. Sunshine please!

Heard a few rumbles whilst playing snooker at the local club, now back home and rain is sporadically heavy at times (as regards to drop size) but not intense. However could more eastern areas of the region be best favoured this time as lots more gathering to the south heading in a north/north westerly direction. Is this the main zone for this evening's fun and frolics? Time will tell.
It was proper hammering down here 10 mins ago so gauge went up 6mm in minutes. Didn't last long and not had thunder since I last posted either.

Briefly moderate shower followed by the first booms of thunder. Game on

Our Aluminium garden room got rattled by the lightning last night. Absolutely shook like crazy! Not even strong gusts of wind move this thing. Freaky!

The rain right now reminds me of Spain. Looks and sounds moderate but the ground stay bone dry lol. Didn't last too long that one so 0.3mm today so far

Bloody swerly flow has cause cloud to bubble up out of nowhere since yesterday leaving us with short spells of sun on this section of the pennines instead of a last couple of days of pure sunshine ahead of the incoming wet weather. Bit gutted about that.

It's only managed to muster a few specs of rain here after the earlier dark skies and distant rumbles. Bummer

Think there's a storm shield in OL as well....seen this happens quite a few times were there weather's playing holy Agamemnon out to the East and as soon as it hits the higher ground of the peaks and Pennines it goes into Timeout mode or has a break...clears my area and then starts spawning again as it drifts downslope and westwards towards Manchester
Not quite sure about that shield mate, already hearing some rumbles as the dark clouds start coming this way.

Still dry and quiet here in Oldham East with the occasional clouds blocking out the sun. Temp down from the high of 30.5c to 27c. Could do with some wind to take the sweaty edge off it

Currently 30.5c up here in Oldham and one of those sweaty days that zaps the life out of you. Rip to all those at work who are being cooked alive working in doors

Yes eastern and northern parts of Gtr Manchester hit the bullseye today. Best storms for a good few years here. Absolutely brilliant. Looks like more to come, keeps building from the south.
Indeed it is but I do much prefer them late evening or night when you can see the flashes much better and it's made it feel late

All quiet on the Eastern front still this will be the first night without nippy gusts leaving it a pleasant evening to sit in the garden until late with a nice cold desperado! 22c currently

29c here now. The humidity is finally starting to ramp up here because its becoming very uncomfortably muggy No sign of any showers yet.

Well its looking like any showers will be much later on today unlike what forecasting radars are showing. I think my area is far enough east to miss most of it, until the early hours at least.
32.6c and very windy 35% humidity at the moment not feeling sweaty and the wind is keeping the edge off the heat.

suns out tits out. We had a couple of bird boxes on the back yard wall for years and never saw any action. Moved one to the top of the garden at the beginning of spring and wow, have the blue tits have been busy.

Yeah, a very different day today than forecast and what we've been used to. This cloud ain't shifting and the temperature is struggling to get past 14c with a chilly breeze. Unusual in this sort of setup on this side of the Pennines, not to clear any cloud away by late morning at worst. Hopefully this isn't going to be what happens the rest of the week. It's half term after all. It looks glorious only 10 miles west.
Indeed mate though the satellite imagery is showing it finally starting to clear our area. Would of been nice if had done that a few hours ago though

Forcasts were showing the cloud burning back towards the east coast by 1pm today. However we are still well and truely stuck under the thick cloud here keeping it on the chilly side.

Well it rained virtually none stop last night so had a decent refill. Sunny spells, windy and up to 23c currently. Very pleasant out.
