  1. I'm just outside Ayr and could see it passing to my south as well, a few distant rumbles but as usual, never amounted to anything.
  2. Watching a big cell pass about 20 miles to the south of me, sky is black. Can hear the odd distant rumble. I'm hoping it saves the best for tonight so I can get decen't photos, without getting wet, hopefully.
  3. I reckon that could break off and basically follow the line of the M74 towards Glasgow. It seems to be trying anyway.
  4. Barely a cloud to be seen that way. I have a feeling this will be like Tuesday for here, draw a line from Dumfries and straight up, that's where might see the action. Anything west of that and your chances vanish rapidly.
  5. Had three months o sun last year, while it was gid, it was abit boring wae hee haw happening lol
  6. Doesn't look like anywhere west of the M74 will get anything today. We didnt get anything Tuesday either. We also do have heat, Edinburgh just recorded 31.5C about an hour ago. It's 29C here.
  7. Go with this and not the Met office as this one appears to be holding more truth.
  8. There's a storm working its way up, its over Lancashire just now, creeping up the coast. It seems to be holding its own, so people from Dumfries and north of that might get something decent later on. Disappointingly, I'll be able to see it sail past in the distance from my window.
  9. In East Ayrshire here. Desperately hoping we get a good lightning show later on after my disappointment on Tuesday night. All it done was tease me with faint distant flashes.
  10. Not looking likely that we will get much snow here. Anything thats coming this way seems to get broken up as soon as it gets to the Isle of Arran, North and South of here seems to be getting some though.
  11. Bit of overhype, for here anyway, perhaps its the direction the winds coming from. It's not even budging the tiles on the roof. The other storms we've had over the past week have taken off quite a few!
  12. Wednesday looks like the central belt will see some 80mph + gusts! Be interesting to see how it plays out.
  13. I can see 70-90mph happening through Strathclyde and across the central belt from that.
  14. I've often felt the Metoffice take the "it's Scotland, they're used to it" approach when it comes to storms like this. If it was the south coast or the south east, they would have issued a red warning days ago.
  15. 126mph on the high ground already. I just attempted to lock the old coal house door which has blown open, but I cant move from the doorstep, wind is far too strong to stand in here.
  16. Squal lines passed over now, was a lull for 5 minutes or so, but the winds gotten well up, house is starting to feel abit like a bouncy castle! *Dorotheeeeeeeeee...................*
  17. The roof tiles aren't rattling...winds not from its usual direction, but the house is shaking and the floors lifted a few times in the big gusts. Maybe come to nothing, but I've got an uneasy feeling about this one, feels different from the rest.
  18. Some of the dams in Dumfries and Galloway were overtopping on Monday morning so I guess they will be again come tomorrow with so much rain again.
  19. Wind's are up to a sustained 112mph at Cairngorm now....knew it was going to be abit of a beast earlier when it was just starting to get windy here and you could hear a hell of a hollow roar above.
  20. Stay safe down there in Wales folks, don't go venturing out in it!!
  21. Yeah its calmed down here a fair bit now, even though it wasnt too bad in the first place. Can still hear it ROARING above though, so I guess the higher exposed locations around here are getting it.
  22. Careful now, you'll have the north/south split brigade telling you there's no such thing next!
