  1. Computers and forums still a bit new for me tbh. No offence meant!
  2. Oops mybit is in your bit, how rude of me. Apologies, my bad.
  3. Sounds great for your area! Can't argue with someone who's surname is Brain either...
  4. The BBC in my experience very hit and miss depending on the source. Local TV and Radio ok, online is frankly hopeless. For short term, few hours ahead get the Netweather 5 min radar for a month at less than £4. invaluable at the moment.
  5. Strong possibility at the moment - lets hope it holds it's intensity then slows done a bit when here. Potential for more than a little dusting here....
  6. Does anyone know if the 'wind vectors' on the precip radar give an indication of the likely direction of ppn? I'm sure someone last winter said the 700hpa wind vectors are the best for this, but I may have mis-remembered that. Thanks
  7. The band of ppn heading towards our area at the moment isn't as big as what we've had over the past week, but to be honest at the moment the intensity isn't greatly different. I'm now glued too! Wasn't expecting that tonight! I guess the unpredictability and 'short notice' of snow is its real appeal before it happens - equalled only for me by thunder storms. Good luck for the next few days, and if it gets properly worse, be safe.
  8. Not sure what to do when the mild eventually returns. I've developed a kind of social life in the past 2 weeks or so, where people don't laugh at my perculiarities and obsessive nature! Hell I've even had a few drunken rants late at night and not been told to go away. Long may the cold continue. Bring on the snow and ice!
  9. Bitterly cold in Stroud this morning (sorry not got a reading). What's struck me about this cold compared to say February is that there is an inch of snow on the electric cables outside my window which have been in full sun for 2 hours now and they're not even dripping! even light snow in the coming days would be potentially interesting as it'll keep adding to what we've got!
  10. Moderate snow in Stroud, more on way from SE according to radar - quite a lot possibly!!
  11. Moderate snow here in Stroud, settling on the main road which was gritted earlier.
  12. Looks to me that if the precip starts to move more south, those in Glos, Brst and Somerset will get a load, the same if it carries on a more westerly track, just a bit later....
  13. Sorry, Stroud - Glos. Was moderate for a bit now light again. Very heavy sky though, changed from couple of hours ago, plus more breeze
  14. It's not my fault - I got bought a bottle of Absinthe for Xmas. It's snowing here a bit to keep on topic.
  15. Play her abba, that might put her to sleep. It would me...
  16. Congrats!! I'll raise a glass (if you send it our way!).
  17. Thanks - sems to me the Wales precip is much greater than BBC forecasts were saying only 4 hours ago. Hope this bodes well..
  18. Hopefully a very white area tomorrow, rather than grey!
  19. Is this the most likely band to come Glos way as the low moves?
  20. Nice one Tribe3000, I'm on Slad Road, town end and there has been a little melt here. I'm opposite Locking Hill, seen some well interesting car episodes (if you know the road)! Interesting potential here me thinks. Is a bit weird being on the South West thread (no offence the SW is my favourite bit of England!)- we are so far from say Penzance! Still, not a Midlander either!
