  1. It's the Northwich, Crewe, Altrincham triangle. I used to live in Northwich and didn't see snow either!
  2. Nothing here at all, I'm not quite sure I'm living in the same region as everyone else!
  3. Does it appear to be stalling? If and when it does will it drag any precipitation in from the Irish Sea?
  4. Decent sized flakes here now, just a shame it's so light, probably the best quality snow I've seen all winter here. It's really dry here so it's sticking.
  5. So what's going to happen later? At some point this will all stall against the cold front and start to slip south-east?
  6. Woo hoo, actually something that bears a passing likeness to snow here. Very, very light but actually quite large flakes!
  7. Waking up to an inch or two, its still very rude to talk with your mouth full or not in this case.
  8. I'm not having a go at them I should say, it's practically impossible to accurately predict snow for a specific location particularly with weather such as this at this time of year. It's just amusing that my specific location shows me to be under an amber warning whilst at the same time showing the weather to be overcast. They've actually been almost exactly correct with the weather forecast at my location. Just goes to show how difficult it is even for the professionals.
  9. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings&regionName=nw&fcTime=1363910400&map=Warnings That does look like Greater Manchester clearly stated as being under an amber warning?
  10. Same here, barely a flake all day. I'm no longer expecting anything.
  11. That snow shadow certainly seems to have much of Manchester and parts of Cheshire firmly in it's grip.
  12. This doesn't appear to have added up to being much for the NW region as a whole, seems like N Wales has taken the brunt so far? Are we expecting anything to develop later this afternoon and into this evening?
  13. I agree, it's been a pretty miserable few months here, cold, wet, very little snow. I think we've managed to get briefly the back end of two snow to rain events and that's about it?
  14. Sadly and not unsurprisingly nothing here in Hale, Altrincham. A few flakes finally this morning, here's hoping for something from the second band?
  15. From my very limited experience exact snow forecasting is literally a watch your nearest lampost and weather radar to be exact. Wind has really picked up, is this coming in quicker than was anticipated?
  16. Just watched Diane, she's really not happy, 'confidence is high' apparently. I'm going to hold her responsible if we get a damp squib again, she's basically described the event as snowmageddon. Better start queuing at the supermarket!!
  17. Just watched the BBC weather and they made reference to heavy snow for the NW.
  18. Too early to be sure yet but it does look like winters going out with a chilly whimper. I haven't enjoyed winter here much this year, far too many chilly, wet and windy days but only two real days of snow and both were snow to rain events. Roll on spring, it's purely anecdotal but we seem to get the best weather of the year in spring now rather than summer.
  19. Weather only gets on the news if it affects the London media luvvies, in which case we get headline crisis Britain stories.
  20. Well to be fair, the met office got it spot on here, light snow from about 3pm, then snow about 6pm, followed by sleet and and rain with finally heavy snow at 9pm. At 9.07pm it started snowing heavily.
  21. turned from snow, to a mixture of everything back to rain here. boooo. Sky has changed colour as well.
