  1. lol, mild weather will bring relief for alot of people I'm sure! If only our infrastructure could cope with snow better... then these events wouldn't be an issue and more enjoyable for everyone.
  2. It's going to be odd seeing temps like that this weekend. I'm so used to the cold/below freezing weather. Proper wintery though... I prefer it to that mild rain stuff . It's too early to say with accuracy if the mild will be back for good or for a short time. What do charts suggests at the moment?
  3. Originally about 3pm... might be around 6pm now I think.
  4. I wonder if it will stall over S.Wales? I guess it's in our favour if it arrives later given the colder temps in the Evening... although it may not make a difference at any time Tomorrow.
  5. Really? Temps have stuck at -0.2C for ages with these cloudy skies. Is it expected to clear up before the front arrives? I can't see temps getting that low otherwise.
  6. By the time it reaches the Midlands it weakens as it's lost it's energy source, the sea - going on the BBC charts. The further south and west you are, the heavier the precipitation, generally... snow or not. B)
  7. Temp holding at -0.2C. Has gotten colder through the Day with a NE wind. It's very misty and it was either sprinkling snow or even drizzle ( :| ) earlier. The ground is very damp in places where the lying snow had been cleared. Not sure if it's all going to freeze over... cloud is keeping temps from falling away further.
  8. Wow, very deep LP in Atlantic on Friday. Would the tightened isobars mean strong Northerly or Southerly wind according to that?
  9. LOL, I know same. Mind you we still have plenty of lying snow, inches infact.... but some surfaces have been shoveled and dried up in Sun.
  10. Looking at the radar and the front moving NW into Irish Sea has barely moved! If it was 100+miles further East we'd be having constant moderate/heavy snow fall Today - like originally predicted .
  11. BBC Online says it's not over yet. Tues & Wed Heavy Snow!
  12. Looking at latest radar the clump building out in the English channel stalled and beginning to show movement NW onto the land. The showers west of London heading East are also becoming more organised.
  13. Alot of these showers will just appear over land I expect as the warm moist upper air front goes over the cold air below. This is happening west of London at the moment and I'd expect the showers to grow the further inland where the air below is colder. That's my theory anyway .
  14. Light snow here. It's falling like little grains... at rate of 0.1mm/hr I expect
  15. Is it old though? They recently updated their online charts and there's plenty of snow Sunday Evening/Night.
  16. My Car underplays the cold. It's -2C now but the car would say 0C.
  17. Yes they were not very giving for snowfall on Sundays Chart here, looked scattered... but their description suggested light and persistent snow.
  18. Temp -1.5C at 4.30pm. Wind now deciding to go SSE. Mostly clear, few bits of snow flying about.
  19. I know, Tea & Toast is essential in this country. When we had heavy snow in the Week, a bread van pulled up by the local Shop, and people were getting it out back of the Van and paying in store. The bread didn't even make it onto the shelves .
  20. DS is getting 5-9C because the thermometer is being exposed to direct sunlight all day I assume. I get temps 1/2C off in the Morning when my thermometer is most exposed to the Sun. It falls during the Day. I need to find a more shaded spot. We've had that here. It's odd.
  21. 0.8C here. Colder day than previously in the Sun. We were getting 2.5C-ish around now last 2 days.
  22. The front is not going to move much with a NE Wind Today. Later on it's forecast to be a more brisk Easterly/SE Wind which will push it inland this Evening.
  23. Looking at BBC the front is expected to not move very much throughout Today, a little further west into London this Evening. Once the wind is behind it later on, the front will begin to move quicker west.
