  1. ^^ I know lol! Especially it being the always changing BBC online forecast. It's snowing out of a clear sky?! And there's not even a brisk wind to be lying snow drifting (I think, lol!)
  2. I assume the warmer air going over our cold carries alot of moisture, so with it slow moving there is no need to worry about it fizzling out quickly.
  3. Looked at charts for BBC... they show a front from west coming in Tuesday Night and turning to snow over us. If that occurs we could have a significant amount of snow from that too.
  4. The stubborn HP seems to move away too quickly on the GFS - although it's a deep LP! I would've thought the Depression moving SE to France on Wednesday as being a more obvious situation...
  5. ''milder'' here due to cloud from showers. -2.1C.
  6. That bundle of showers broke in half before it even made it to Cardiff. I had a little sprinkling from it. Nothing to brag about though .
  7. Of course the BBC wouldn't mention Wales if the South East is getting a bit of Snow. Watch Sky News, they seem more optomistic for snow lovers.
  8. It would indeed! For me, the last time I can (vaguely) remember snow like this was '95 or '96. If we have more snow Sunday into Monday... it would be a Winter to remember. We've had snowfall at some point for the last 3 or so weeks. I can't recall it happening for me. The usual snow event is Feb/March and then a big thaw in the Afternoon sun.
  9. Maybe it's the duration of the snow which backs up the warning. Moderate snow fall all day could accumulate to as much as heavy snow for a shorter period.
  10. And also the warning extends for most of England too but that chart shows only western parts being effected.
  11. BBC also forecast heavy snow Tuesday Night after a rest during the Day following Sun/Mon. This could be very interesting again.
  12. Last Night here was -5.1C which is very cold for our location... coldest of Winter 09/10 so far. May beat it Tonight as it's already -4.0C.
  13. And possibly south east if them showers come a bit further west.
  14. Funny how -27.2C seems to be the floor temp for cold in UK . Achieved 3 times in 3 different months and Years apart. I could just see the headlines in the Media if that record was smashed during this cold spell.
  15. ... and my -3.9c even more! Exceptional values for 8pm.
  16. At 20:00 -3.9C NW Winds @ 0.0mph 1008.6hPa Clear
  17. -4C here at 7.30pm. Quite exceptional indeed. The charts for this weekend looks interesting!
  18. I know I found when the sun came out on 5th the snow started to melt even though the temp was below freezing. With 2 days of Sun forecast, I hope it doesn't melt it too much. I want cloud! The good thing though is that the sun is still low in sky early Jan. By Feb/March it would melt much quicker. Q: Does anyone know what the air temp has to be for snow not to melt at all even in direct sunlight?
  19. Sky News were bold and said 'widespread heavy snow for the south on Sunday' just now on their Forecast.
  20. Lots of snow to wake up to this Morning, showers during the Day.Most I've seen since Mid 1990's here. We had diggers trying to plough the snow off the roads. pic...
  21. Had about 5/6 inches of Snow last Night.Haven't seen so much in years. Light snow at the moment.
  22. Still have some snow falling... Swansea will see lots very soon: http://www.meteogroup.co.uk/uk/home/weather/radar/united_kingdom.html
