  1. I know haha. I'd love to have just snow and cold for a few months and then straight into sunshine and warm and a few thunderstorms for rest of the year. The mild drizzly weather is sooo boring!
  2. Just before Christmas is was very wet and rainey and it turned to heavy snow quickly. It was a bit warmer than Today but it was persistent to create a thin layer of slush on the floor which the snow then settled on. You just need chunky thick and persistent flakes to clump together on the ground and freeze it. The other Day it wasn't heavy or thick enough so didn't settle which was very frustrating after hours of constant light snow.
  3. Well the radar looks lovely but I know the Beacons will gobble up most of the precipitation :l. Still, anything is good as wasn't expecting anything Today. It probably won't settle though, temps 2C. Ground is dry though so it'll need to big thick and heavy.
  4. Down Swansea for the weekend. Choose good Day to go, lots of heavy snow showers Friday Night into Saturday thanks to the streamer off Irish Sea. Woke up to around an inch or so of snow. Back Home, there is zilch. The east never does well in that type of setup.
  5. Had a very gusty hail shower earlier. I would get caught out in it... nearly blew me off my feet haha! Then had a snow shower about an hour ago. It's January 29th ... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/7925683.stm
  6. I see! I thought it was cold and dry Monday onwards but I now see a warm front waiting in the Atlantic Monday. Hmmm .
  7. Ugghhh, forecast Tuesday on BBC online (although very likely to change): 8C and heavy rain, west winds . Yes it's almost certain to change  but where did they get idea of it being mild and wet Tues? Am I looking at the wrong charts?
  8. Depends on the weather . If spring means mild and wet then NO! If it means warm and sunny then YES! snowsnowsnow until then please .
  9. That's my thoughts. Let's get the cold in first and the snow will follow eventually.
  10. Agree. North & West Wales tend to do well out of this setup. Even though the showers may become more organised from the north, the mountains eat it all up by the time it reaches the south. East winds brings cold and dry weather mainly. Usually it's the cold air and LP from W/SW that delivers... but then that usually means a breakdown.
  11. That was the forecast from the start wasn't it? Wintry showers for the weekend... becoming more organised on Sunday. It's later on next week I'm lead to believe could hold big snow potential, but anything can happen!
  12. I saw that too! Was so nice! Same thing occured Yesterday aswell. red sky at night, sheppards delight. red sky at morning, sheppards warning.
  13. It's just . But there's alot of hours for a downgrade/backtrack to occur... which is the only way they can go reallly .
  14. Even if there is a dry north/easterly wind, that'll do... get the cold air in and then when a front eventually arrives from the south/west we're sorted <_<.
  15. ^ Same for me too . Still, nice to see some snow fall.
  16. We've had snow since 9am this Morning and it hasn't settled . Ground too warm and wet here. Further up the road inland there is snow covered hills .
  17. Nice big flakes falling but it's not heavy enough to start accumulating. Melts a few seconds after contact with ground.
  18. Snowing nicely but not sticking . What a waste of good snow . It's trying to on the grass but not amounting to much, dusting shows when the snow is heavy. The ground is wet so unless the flakes come down thicker it won't accumulate much.
  19. Cold HP weather with regular snowfall from passing fronts N and S of UK. Then from April - very warm with thunderstorms.
  20. Temp 4.4C Dew point 2.4C Wind E at 14mph. It's going to be marginal here Tomorrow I think... sleet?
  21. 5 more inches of snow Today. In the garden there was already 4 inches of lying snow so it was very deep with some drifts around 2 feet on the east facing walls. Had a great Day in it. Mild to come, welcomed by many... Hope the cold returns next week though haha! Last cold spell? I wouldn't have thought so. Feb/March for last few Years have been the Months to deliver, and alot of snow it delivers... but for very short periods.
  22. http://www.meteogroup.co.uk/uk/home/weather/radar/united_kingdom.html You can zoom onto your location. Refresh every 15mins for latest radar. Yellows = light... Reds = heavy .
  23. My car always exaggerates outside temp about 2C in comparison to the weather station. Wow at roath park lake being frozen over! Would've been odd to see. Not sure on what to advise for Theatre. The snow is estimated to begin around 6pm, but not get really heavy until later on in the Night.
