  1. It has been a few years since i last posted. hale 2.9C slowly falling temperature 0.8C dew point, slowly falling Sleet in the vicinity. So far we have had very erratic temperature changes. Highest temperature 30 minutes ago was 4.5C until about 1 hour ago, it has been completely dry, then we had a light rain shower. also having just gone out to the car the wind appears to have dropped to a very light breeze. The angle of those showers does not look promising at all, just seen the sat24 radar and they seem more aligned northern ireland / ireland -> south wales.
  2. Summer is coming. Sevilla, Spain hit 27C the other day. However it's also seen a record wet season too, along with chilly temps. I was hoping for a warm / hot spring, but the temperatures don't look remotely impressive especially on the 10/14 day forecasts. Cloudy, Rain with average temperature holding between 10/12C, with overnights still reaching low single digits. Looking at the accu forecast, there are one or two partly cloudy days, but it won't feel warm. When I say warm I mean noticeably warm from 15C+ not seeing it getting to that, and thats going through the first part of april. Very depressing suicidal weather infact. Dull, mild and wet, wait that is this summer's forecast too isn't it? repeat 2012 summer forecast up here..was very bad average temp 15C every day, along with rain every day 0.o
  3. yup the rain is coming, will it be as bad as last year? I hope its much worse I love the idea of this country shrinking through land erosion hahaha
  4. heavy snow currently, conditions are perfect for this to stick, already is beginning to do on car roofs and the gras in the garden
  5. get building some snowmen, and take photos...wait you will probably die if you try that, with this wind chill and blinding conditions haha
  6. we are having it all, they can have nothing but rain if they want haha
  7. No, i am just further inland than you, and I guess that's what makes the difference and I am not excactly at sea level either.
  8. it shouldn't let up tonight at all, if things work out.
  9. I guess we will have to wait and see on that.
  10. Pretty obvious the radar is showing false returns or simply not working correctly. Maybe it's the weather lol according to the dopey automated Liverpool Airport weather device, that too is returning wrong information regarding current conditions there. It seems to think its poor down with light rain..I guess it does struggle with the difference between snow and rain issue hahaha. Also it records 1C and dewpoint 1C lolol
  11. I haven't been out to take a measurement yet, but i would guess its about 4/5 Inches and accumulating.
  12. all that intense stuff from france, is pretty much merging and heading over us. So plenty more to come I should think. Met want to go all day saturday with snow, at least until the afternoon.
  13. I bet you have the powdery stuff, you should stick your head outside and check.
  14. It isn't at all. There are a number of people making claims that are not true, regardless of what the radar is showing. I said, it was getting more intense, it is, The radar does not show it, but I can very definitely tell you though, the conditions around here, are very bad, and the snow is coming down at a rate of knots.
  15. Actually thats not quite true. The amount recorded at 6am this morning was 5CM, then we had the little blip with the dp, and lost a good 3CM, but unlike yourself, we kept the snowing going, except it was that wet nast crap, people really hate, that never sticks even on dry surfaces. Where in Liverpool are you? here the dp is -1.3C
  16. Its fine, we haven't lost any intensification, if anything it's gotten to be even more intense. And I doubt we'll loose it anyway. Things are looking good.
  17. Conditions have worsened here. Blowing full blizzard. Bt I haven't checked depth yet, but I'd suggest it must be about the same. Wind is horrific, the snow is blinding. Just got back from going to the supermarket. Everywhere is at a crawl. Can barely see 100m in front of you. There has to be a significant wind chill to this too. Very nasty conditions outside. Still, this will keep intensifying through the evening and overnight. Could easily end up with projected 40CM+ at the intensity this is coming down. Winter wonderland out there right now.
  18. I believe it does not give out overnight forecasts because it shuts down.
  19. Conditions out there are awesome. Thankfully the gritters did their job. The gritted pavements now have a covering though. Coming down with quite a bit of intensity. Be nice to actually see it accumulate this time, thanks to the earlier dp's we saw quite a thaw, still the grass, the roof tops and most everywhere else still had a couple of cm's. Roads still had slush but the pavements where clear, now it' covered too. Just a word of warning about the liverpool automated weather system. It's actually declaring the wrong precipitation, temp and dp's which are lower. Some times it suffers from these little hiccups.
  20. I wouldnt worry at all. There is a lot more snow coming. It's been a strange day with this snow, Once that front stalls, i can see the precip totals mounting up. Just look at that stuff from france making it' way northwards, most of that is very intense stuff
  21. How is the forecast i read doing? Everywhere white, and intense snowfall. White out conditions still prevailing from a little earlier. Should be plenty from this, as the front stalls. Definitely location, location to this heavier precipitation. The irish sea does appear to be doing it's job peeping up the precip at times. As for how long it will really snow for, is anyone's guess right now. However with a stalled front, and continous moisture hitting the cold air, we should see a while longer. As for other locations in the NW I have no idea, sorry.
  22. The heavier stuff was always going to be this afternoon , tonight and tomorrow. The forecast as I read it. "Heavy and persistent snow, starting this afternoon, into the evening and overnight and through out tomorrow. Conditions are likely to worsen over the next 24 hours, with high accumulations in the effected regions." Today it has not stopped snowing, though a lot of the accumulation was lost through a rise in dewpoints. For the past hour we have had heavy and persistent snow, and the flakes are gradually getting bigger. Any accumulation that was lost, will soon be back. The stuff after the front passed was far more important. Without looking at satellite imagery, it probably stalled or something, which meant that only now are we beginning to see what was expected. Still, it's nice to see the snow coming down during daylight hours. Looks really awesome out there. Beyond 200 m its complete whiteout conditions.
