  1. unlikely the temperature threshold does not get us below freezing, and they very rarely issue amber for 0C, its likely to be for the potential snow amount tonight.
  2. Liverpool and (crosby?) is west merseyside not south
  3. think the most northern extent of south merseyide is woolton?
  4. the northern part of the wirral, but is not the central or southern part classed as cheshire?
  5. no south merseyside is considered south liverpool, the estuary and wirral hope that comes off, could be a fair few cm's from that PL
  6. which would be a turn up for the books if this actually came off for south merseyside , west cheshire. usually but not always, these two areas are generally devoid of snow most winters, if you like the snow or your kids do, its probably the worst place to live in britain, it really is that bad here. but when it does snow on occasion we can get a large dumping, but it does not make up for years devoid of anything. The last time we saw snow was 26 december, before that I cannot remember seeing anything since 2012 and even then it barely covered the ground lol, i have to go back to 2010 to remember the last time it snowed and was over 5cm, its been a very long time.
  7. I have not even seen a tv forecast in the last couple of days that grpahic looks more north wales cheshire than merseyside lol
  8. not rare, well they are here in the irish sea hahaha you get +1 for that, needed to laugh
  9. pretty much what i have been saying, for those looking for snow its not good news unless on high ground. 850's set to rise to -3C, temps up to 4C and dp's up to 2C, rain or sleet in very heavy showers.
  10. unless it is a polar low, then watch out overnight , might see 10/30cm of snow from it dew point and ground temps just to marginal
  11. temperatures will continue to remain erratic, but well above freezing. Dew points will be extremely marginal at the best of times, but under heavy precipitation you may see a snow shower, otherwise your getting the rain. also the last time i saw yesterday, the 850's where progged to be a lousy -3C tonight. so if your away from high ground, do nothold your breath, because all i can see along with the airport is light rain showers.
  12. th eproblem is this was going to develop at tea time, so i am still sceptical about it and if it will even develop. if it does develop, and with temperatures in places climbing, along with dp, and 850's the only thing its going to produce if anything, is rain, away from high ground, unless some miraculous event occurs before then
  13. i know its a polar low, but that image is taken from the arctic
  14. it is ironic that everywhere away from Merseyside / cheshire is getting the snow, now into the south east, while we continue to get rain showers at best
  15. that in the arctic, not in the north atlantic lol
  16. lots of rain about, we have light rain. temp is now 3.6C and rising, dp 1.1C and rising 1 we need a temperature drop 2 it is not going to happen until we get a wind change (we need colder air), nothing much has really changed since last night, same old story today in fact. 3 when the wind changes to a northerly, your chance of snow down here is practically gone, i have yet to see a northerly ever produce anything. 4 north westerlies will produce only if the synoptic setup is perfect. This is why we are having to rely on very heavy precipitation showers, and even they are becoming less as they move inland 5 there is nothing here at this present time that indicates that this is going to change in the immediate future, same sleet / rain showers move through, that start as snow along the coast. and that is exactly what has been happening here
  17. all we have is a light breeze, with darkening clouds and really erratic temperature rise and drops, it does not help the dew points is also playing games with being up and down endlessly. Even here though, unfortunately far to warm for anything to stick once it has finished. Hopefully later this afternoon / tonight we see temps and dp drop and some heavy snow that can stick
  18. there is a yorkshire thread is there not?
  19. very selective snow, snow in wallasey, snow along liverpool coast, and just a few km bright skies and sunshine with erratic temperatures
  20. for some silly reason i was thinking of somewhere else that was in derby shire lol is anyone in the south getting really erratic temperature and dp changes? since i posted it was 4.1 it has now dropped to 3.4C and dp is -0.2C, there is no wind or precipitation at all at the moment
  21. temperature again climbing, got 4.1C, dp is now 1.1C looks like rain
