  1. light drizzle now, but that stuff will move this way and should fall as snow. temperature now at 1.3C dew point 0.7C still marginal.
  2. this might be interesting, friend who works at LJA who's friend works in the ATC, said the prognosis short term (3-6 hours) is rain then snow, and back to rain. My temp and dp are starting to drop. temp 2.8C DP 1.0C not entirely sure what is happening, went outside, and it actually felt cold even without any wind. sleet as opposed to rain Liverpool airport taf TAF EGGP 291701Z 2918/3018 30015KT 9999 FEW010 SCT035 PROB40 TEMPO 2918/2924 28025G35KT 4000 SHRASN BKN008 BKN014CB BECMG 2921/2924 33005KT TEMPO 3000/3006 3000 RASN BKN006 PROB30 TEMPO 3006/3018 31020G30KT 4000 SHRASN BKN009 rain to snow
  3. fill in the irish sea with concrete and voila ...snow for all haha
  4. i would be surprised if you have anything left in a few hours
  5. give us extremely cold air from the east, with precipitation from the south west...and watch the fun begin...oops, even with the correct alignment from the nw we still mainly rain. Anyone would think we live in the tropics to be this unlucky lol
  6. I concur, temperature continues to rise albeit slowly 3.9C Dew point now is 2.4C
  7. its not an exact location where that heavy precip is. so i would take it with a pinch of salt, its more a rough idea where
  8. looking forward to the rain spreading inland so you can all share the misery hahaha in all seriousness though, those nmm could be wrong in it's distribution of where that snow will fall temps are still very erratic, dp has dropped again to 0.7C so as long as the dp continues to dip down we may still be in with a chance under the heavier stuff, but i would be surprised if that low missed us
  9. looks like rain down here on those maps, but its difficult to be sure about that
  10. met warning for NW During Thursday night and into Friday settling snow is likely to become more confined to higher ground in some areas as the airmass becomes a little less cold. However, a small area of low pressure is expected to move southeastwards and bring a more persistent spell of rain, sleet and snow to parts of western Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Midlands. This likely to lead to further accumulations of snow, especially on high ground, whilst also increasing the risk of ice. The track of this system is a little uncertain at present and this warning may be adjusted as and when necessary. They word to this is High ground this could be a older warning from earlier
  11. its been very marginal here on the estuary, no snow cover. even when it did snow for 5 minutes, it did cover the roof and ground but was gone within minutes of it stopping snowing. very strange
  12. thats a little insulting don't you think?
  13. not along the estuary, its been raining for a while, in fact the only snow shower today was for 5 minutes, there has not been any snow cover at all and from what i have learned much of merseyside has had no cover that has lasted for more than 10 minutes.
  14. Merseyside got a few flakes that did not last long, and by the time it covered, it uncovered due to snow melt which happened quickly..no accumulation at all
  15. The problem is this, temperatures are unlikely to drop tonight, and if anything they may climb upwards, turning marginal into otherwise rainfall. There a few factors at work here, and its by no means certain we will all see it. That said, if your on high ground I think you stand a way better chance, then if you are down by the estuary. I think there is going to be a few disappointed faces in the morning when this thing does not deliver for them. If it does, it is likely to produce a fair bit of snow. Not saying its beyond the realms of impossibility that everywhere should see heavy persistent snow, but the reality of the situation is likely to be what I said above, so with that in mind, I think she is probably in all likelihood going to be right when she says "not everywhere is going to see snow". The dew points, temperature and wind direction, and whether this low picks up warm air, is going to play a big factor in what we get, specifically at lower levels, where marginal is keyword for rain most times..but as i said, high ground, is probably going to look good. all this ho ah for these temperatures makes me laugh
  16. Feels like -2.4C because of the windchill Temp is now 3.3C and dropping Dew point is 1.4C and dropping it is currently sleeting outside
  17. Seems the GFS want us at 4/5C tonight by the time that LP arrives, and it also seems the DP will be over marginal. MNN wants that heavier snow across Morecambe and then diagonally southeast towards and across manchester and very little to southwest (merseyside, west cheshire) of it.
  18. Yes, we need a quieter period where our temps and dp's can drop off, it's not helping we keep getting sleet showers. There is a slight hope later, but it will depend on the wind direction...so far its not playing ball with us.
  19. Temp 3.8c DP 1.4C madness, the temp will drop back to 1C again in a few minutes.
  20. they can have distin, howard and joel back too..in the case of howard, the sooner we are shut of him the better, we need a real goalkeeper not mignolet's twin brother...you could put them both in goal and they'd still concede lol it depends on a few things, but usually 220m+ is a good guide
  21. temperature fluctuations from 1.6C to 3C then 4C then back down to 1C, and the cycle starts again over and over. It's the same with the dew point, it rises it drops like a yo yo. The rain has been more like rain showers that have barely produced anything, and the snow as been extremely minimal, if you count a 5 minute powder snow event that quickly ended and melted almost as quickly as it arrived. I would be very surprised if we see anything from that system tonight, it looks to produce to the north of us and to the east. These temperatures are a joke, if people claim "bitterly cold" i'd understand if you came from deepest africa, but the media do gush about nothing when they have no news stories to report, so they invent them. Anyway, i had a good hard laugh at the daily mail's rubbish....every year they do it....its winter...what do the muppets expect?
  22. its funny seeing it rain, while it continues to snow everywhere else in the country. These temperatures are still very erractic, and so is the dp
