  1. well once this lot clears, we should actually see clearing skies.
  2. i guess we will have to wait and see, nothing about this weather or these models have been quite accurate enough for me to 100% rely on what they tell me at this moment. I mean tonight as been extremely weird and it should not have panned out that way, but then the weather does what it wants. But i have to say, that snow has been coming down like powder, and its now covered everything, its snowing moderately, and non of the big flakes thats associated with wet melting snow, now that is impressive from what we have come from a few short hours ago when it looked like a monsoon in full swing with heavy rain
  3. i think it was some way off actually, because the nmm was showing much further east, and not down the mersey to wales, well at least the latter one
  4. i guess the good news is, that we are going to get temperatures down to freezing tonight after all, and with showers still packing in from the north, well north, northwest and across ireland we could yet see more tomorrow, when conditions should be perfect! i agree though would be amazing if we got back building on that, we'd hit the same jackpot as those in derby or glossop lol
  5. iphone uploading images, sideways they said hahaha we still have snow fall
  6. its out to wind you up haha i just looked outside again and the road and rooves are covered but only by about 1 cm at most, still some bare spots
  7. nice photo, shame its on its side the undercut happened a little to late, but at least we got falling snow again, but not to your extent..we got cars covered, but thats all
  8. cold undercut as arrived for you, but its probably a little too late, but wait for the weekend, if those models come off we could end up with quite a mountain of snow down here lol
  9. you see , more snow you did much better than i did. at the rate this is now moving, id be surprised if lasted another 10 minutes, pity it is not stalling lol normally we should see anywhere from 10/30cm of snow from these polar lows even right at the coast, but thanks to warm air being shoved eastwards, we where left with moderate to heavy rain at times, then about an hour ago, colder air started to undercut this system as it made landfall, and places which did not see snow, have now seen it. the next thing is people need to be careful with ice forming. even if you cannot see it, if you go out, you could land badly and end up in hospital...be careful!
  10. the snow is more like powder like this afternoon, looking at the outdoor security light. which is not a bad thing, because powder is much easier to accumulate then big fat fluffy flakes (unless like here every where is soaking wet, in which case big fluffy snowflakes will accumulate with heavy precip...which usually indicates wet melting snow but not sure how long is left, but what a time for it undercut with the cold when its almost gone lol
  11. that should play into your hands actually, as the colder air undercuts the mild, marginality as passed, what we need now is precipitation, but it looks like by the time we get the same type of snow as manchester it will have moved away lol
  12. colder air is undecutting the rain, and thats why we have snow now. not sure how long it is going to last, probably not long, but from completely wet to cars almost covered. street still wet but can see where it is sticking.
  13. really strange beause the temp is now 0.6C and dp is at -0.2C last time i checked about 30 min+ it was a lot milder
  14. starting to get heavier, slowly starting to stick. problem is we had really wet roads from the heavy rain etc earlier, now if it stalls lol
  15. it will get colder tonight as it wears on, and as it does so, if there is still precipitation in the area, you might see a few flakes or showers. at the moment ground and dp temps just to high
  16. 2 mm of rain now thanks to it turning kind of heavy lol once this passes through overnight, watch out for icy stretches and be safe, this is going to be murder driving around in that lot and i have to go to Manchester tomorrow so at least its not that far to find snow lol.
  17. you might see further snow tonight as this pushes south / southeast, at least a few more cm i would have thought, unless this warmer air manages to get in. Seems strangely confined to just liverpool, but we'll have to wait and see what happens with the temps a little later. but you seems to be in a good position for more yet.
  18. moderate rainfall in full swing. disappointing, but then it never really was going to be much if anything at all here anyway. Temps and dp's where all over the place and that never changed through tonight. can only hope things get colder, and we see some proper snow during the weekend, it seems much more likely, regardless of the wind direction.
  19. Meto Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Northerly winds continuing through the weekend, drawing in colder air. There will be a mix of sunshine and scattered snow showers, mainly around the coasts. Widespread overnight frosts.
  20. it might look huge, but that precipitation does not look altogether that heavy, the worry is that will push in warmer temperatures. although when you look at the radar, it looks pretty impressive over manchester way also met claiming threshold has been met 90% for freezing conditions, surprised it has not been reduced or more localized, unless the temperatures really do drop after this lot goes through.
  21. just looking at sat24, whats going on over norway?
