Showers burst into life at 9.45pm, Chelmsford and Colchester in the firing line....probably be rain mind you, haha......... saying that its all to far north to where I am

I see numerous snow events sprucing up on face value it is looking pretty damn!! good, going by the latest charts available -western/central parts do best with slider setups, with very cold air engaging with shallow lows recipe for snow. Not so strong is the signal of accumulations however it will be very cold, minima circa -10C over the snowfields to the west of London, later on SE/EA is the place to be with a raw NE wind, but no need for the minor details, you would love that 22nd chart you'll be clobbered.

Looking at the latest maps it seems to keep the SE pretty snow free, please tell me Im wrong

Seems the Essex weather centre has pretty much written off snow for our area now after looking at the progress of the low during the afternoon, shame....oh well onto the next snow potential it seems

Just been burning about a ton of Christmas wrapping paper and boxes and its started to rain here about 10mins ago pretty steadily, temp is defiently dropping now too

Certainly a nip in the air today, early frost and currently dead still, not a breath of wind.... feels like a proper winter day at the moment, lets see what develops later, not that I think much will happen down my neck of the woods, but you never know

Think I will wait for another couple of runs before getting to excited, but at least the charts are heading the right way at this stage

Well..
ECM/UKMO would give us some back edge snowfall as the system moves Southwards, probably little accumulation away from higher ground.
More interestingly though, a window of Easterly winds could bring snow showers during Monday before high pressure cuts off the flow. But given we still haven't got the track of the low pressure system nailed down this really is just speculation.
The GFS would give us mostly rain, perhaps some sleet on the back edge if we're lucky.

Just been raining here, no thunder or lightening as of yet

An hour of thunder and lightening here, huge cracks of thunder, very heavy rain, havent known a storm to stick around for this long for ages, mental !!

Mental weather at the moment, 45mins of non stop thunder and lightening, heavy rain now. Power keeps going off too, crazy !!

Contant flashing and thunder out to my west, does'nt seem to be moving at all, unexpected, just started to spit with rain and its still foggy too

Having a flash and rumble of thunder every 40 -60 seconds here for the last 10 mins, weird thing is its still foggy, haha, no rain, rumbles getting louder
