Glad I didn't bother radar watching today, I see as usual all the excitement heading for the South East and it's just plain old rain here, another warm one though today, 24.5c max.
yep fraid so, just a wet night here but nothing exceptional, if anything more light blues appearing on the radar so murky drizzle
-
could be quite a wet night then in the offing, id say up to an inch quite widely
-
haha love it gord, yep it looks like the majority of any electrical activity will be much further east than here, with just heavy rain over our patch; perhaps an inch or so. it must be incredible in the benelux right now, absolutely plastered with sferics and intense rain.
-
NMM has barely any precipitation reaching the mainland at all?! Nowcasting is the name of the game
-
most of the more intense precipitation to me seems to a little further east with us being on the western end of the front, anyway, pedantic detail, it may change in the morning, we shall see, it may be the faded lines tbf!Paceyboy, on 27 Jul 2013 - 00:21, said:The most intense rainfall is almost certainly a west midlands event on that chart azores! An area within Gloucester to Stoke to Notts to Coventry to evesham back to gloucesterIt better be thundery!
-
looks too far east for us im afraid paceyboy, once again east mids and east anglia to soak up the action!
-
doubt we'll get any thundery activity tomorrow if im honest, looking at the majority of models, once again the majority of activity will be in essex/suffolk area i wouldve thought over to parts of the home counties. Will be bog standard rain over here, and probably not enough to replenish the ground after such dry weather of late.
-
All the fun looks east of us as usual
dontcha know its always notts/lincs etc that always have the fun, despite being as far inland as most of us and yet they always seem to come out on top in these events
-
Was on residential with my class up near Newport in Shropshire when that hit...
Edgmond Hall by any chance? Nearly got a placement with them
-
Yeah was a rare treat though seeing our early deluges come through the area with some sheet lightning as well. Have to say, got my hopes up it may go on throughout the day but in usual british fashion that was soon shown to be wrong. Thursday is looking so so for shower activity with moderate CAPE levels, so let's see, things can change(and usually do) for the better/worse and we wont know until tomorrow evening really. Chances are IMO just scattered showers rather than anything memorable, going by past experience.
-
yep a fair bit of electrical activity still SE of brum it would seem, not so much to the west mind.
-
the county or Lichfield? didn't miss out as such, few good flashes/loud rumbles, but here is never as good as west midlands county, for snow either
depends whereabouts you are in the county i guess as its so extensive, i think central parts such as stafford/uttoxeter miss out more than perhaps urban fringes of the midlands
-
hows the sleep deprivation treating people?
-
going out on a sweet note i think, rains picked up one more time before we end up with some sunny spells, not too bad though really the last 4 hours
-
not much happening here? bit confused, maybe slightly too far west
-
Could get very active soon. Winds steering these cells north ever slightly NNW and the Gloucester cell is now very active!
pleeeease
-
Going to carry on for a while here yet. Stuff around Gloucester is heading this way and intensifying. Few more flashes and rumbles again now. It isn't over for
Another hour it so yet!
yep and then greedy old me will be sulking when it brightens up later if it starts the day wet i cant stand it being sunny and damp, thats when all the insect friends come out
-
think thats pretty much our lot now, had 27mm of rain, some fantastic sheet lightning and cannon-esque thunder. Really piddled it down since 5am but its all moving northwards, best of luck to the rest of ya
-
27mm of rain here today from showers, very wet indeed. Just get the feeling we are over the worst of it now as the main action transfers northwards
-
Really dark and closing in now. Lightning quite close but it's hard to tell if it's intra cloud or cloud to ground.
sheet lightning im pretty sure
-
gah bbc weather is such a buzzkill, dunno why i bother watching it, showers clearing northwards with scattered showers behind! nevertheless still plenty going on round here, the rain is piddling down still, 15mm here today apparently
-
Here she blows..again lovely-stuff!
Bit like the Amazon out there today!
it is a little isn't it, i just can't sleep at all, like a kid at christmas atm, rumblings aplenty, lots of deluges and only had a few hours sleep happy days!
-
, plenty of thunder and heavy rain circling around
-
More developments SE Wales? After a brief lull seems to be picking up again here.
im just to your south i think and quietened down a bit again! back to bed for a bit i think

the rain is nothing noteworthy really looking at the radar tbf, a lot of light blues in the vicinity, as people have said earlier 'landan' could take a direct hit
