  1. Yeah do okay, but not as well as east coastal areas, we tend to be either too far west or too far east

mainly too far west tbf though. as gord says we are quite far inland(yet the alps are hundreds of miles inland and have great convection rates for snowfall) so low pressure systems rarely have the energy to give much when the showers originate from the east. best snowfalls for us are battleground situations, which as any weather watcher will know are unpredictable and at best a 'few hours before the event' situation

  2. Yes we do. The back edge is clearing Shrewsbury now and there's nothing behind it. Still...2 hours ago it was looking like nothing and we're going to get a dusting tonight at least. Could be worse.

Still tomorrow as well...alhtough I'm not holding my breath!

still chucking it down northwest of oswestry according to my mate so not sure thats quite right.

  3. Hmm just seen the beeb forecast and the second band of ppn was mainly RAIN for most of the midlands? Maybe the far east midlands staying with all snow so much chopping and changing in each forecast

not even that, a wintry mix in the east midlands with an all rain event in the west midlands tomorrow. tonight, however, could deliver a couple of cms in places.

  4. Tonight it's the turn of the East Midlanders to relax and look forward to lots of snow while over here in the West Midlands, we're still shuffling in our seats uneasily about it. Wonder who'll be doing the squeaky bum dance tomorrow!

In Dudley, we have some elevation on our side, I would have thought that would help our cause. We're one of the highest areas in the built up area of the West Midlands.

when did you leave the stourbridge crew? you moved to upper gornal to be in the highest part of the borough didnt ya tease.gif

  5. Any pictures of your snow peeps? I know its not much but im here in Falmouth and its 7c!!! I want snow! laugh.png

the day it snows in falmouth is the day we know that thermohaline circulation has been majorly affected by AGW!

just about to set off from Didcot to Villa Park, here's hoping for a snow free afternoon

heres hoping for a saints win also!

  6. i think we need to stay grounded here. as exciting as the prospect may seem, until maybe 24 hours (or maybe less) before the snow falls anything can happen. its so difficult especially as the best snow events are often marginal. dont be surprised if a number of people get sleet or rain to lower levels(especially telford and the wrekin... it never snows there! :p) and keep the prozac near just incase! for me im expecting rain from whatever falls next week.... but im cautiously optimistic we'll get a little snow at least smile.png
