  1. Unfortunately the so called science is to discredit those that disagree with the AGW theory. Facts are just an 'Inconvenient Truth".
  2. So then you are saying a huge increase in manmade CO2 doesn't cause an increase in temperatures? Or it only causes an increase in temperature if temperatures increase. Hansen predicted a constantly increasing temperature as CO2 increased and all the models for AGW call for a constantly increasing temperature as CO2 increases. So now your theory is that increasing CO2 might cause an increase in temperatures unless natural changes in climate cause a cooling.
  3. Old Henry Larsen who spent so many years in the Arctic in the 30's and 40's said the wind has a greater effect then the Sun on the melt. It is very complicated like you say and not well understood even by an expert such as yourself. Keep up the great post's.
  4. It takes a lot of energy to melt snow and the white surface can really slow melting.
  5. The rare year that the major Great Lakes freeze over, the snowfall is very reduced on the downwind side which we call the snow belt. That is why Buffalo gets socked so heavily with snow when Lake Erie doesn't freeze. I was wondering if there was a similar effect in the Arctic. Maybe Roger knows.
  6. If the economy continues on it's present course and has a meltdown that will be a far worse toll on the world's poor. And a cool climate will kill more people than a warm climate.(less food available)
  7. The edit button is not there so my question is, what affect is there from the open water in the Alaska area? Will this result in greater snowfall over the Arctic ice? I noticed the Canadian weather is showing snowing in the Arctic most days.
  8. If? Caused by maybe? What if it is cooling and CO2 is beneficial?(it is fact that increased CO2 makes plants grow faster)
  9. Thanks Roger If I get a chance I will read the book. Busy lately with everything in turmoil in the markets and such. I am a lot more worried about an economic imploshion than AGW. And the Arctic had a cold last winter and the summer temps are not very warm. Something appears to be going on, although it is only one year. Must be the climate changing.
  10. There is a huge abundance of coal on Earth. Enough for thousands of years and with the new pollution control tech only the CO2 is released to make the worlds plant life flourish and feed the world.
  11. The last ten years have seen a monsterous increase in manmade CO2 and a slight cooling. What about that? How does that fit with the AGW theory? Not very well I would think.
  12. Below freezing in Alert again today http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/pages/...2_metric_e.html Grise Ford below normal temps. http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/pages/...2_metric_e.html http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/forecast/ca...ex_e.html?id=NU http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/jet_stream/index_e.html These cold temps if they continue are going to drop the melt farther behind last year each day. Doesn't look like last years low level of ice will be matched without some freak hot weather arriving soon. July is the warmest month in the Arctic and it is half over.
  13. The problem with nuclear is the huge expense. Coal is plentiful and with the new technologies it releases little pollution and also provides CO2 to make the Earths plant life flourish. The logical way to go.
  14. Why so cold during this period of unstoppable AGW?
  15. Absolutely no proof that a tiny amount of CO2 in the atmosphere is harmful. it makes life flourish.
  16. The 'Sky is Falling' and raising taxes is the only solution.
  17. Yet the fact is the ice melt in the Arctic is far behind last year. As the Earth cools. Silly stories won't cause the Arctic to melt faster. Actually if they were Polar Bears the Europeans would shoot them.
  18. You have no proof increased CO2 levels are harmful. On the contrary they make plants and the Earth thrive. Greenhouse operators actually pump CO2 into the greenhouses to promote growth. And the oceans release CO2 as they warm. CO2 has no potential to destroy the planet, it is a trace gas and the whole idea is bogus as will be seen as the Earth enters the current cooling phase. Please provide me the location where the Earth is experiencing such a dry effect. It is raining more than ever here after a huge increase in AGW gasses. AGW gas emmissions have probably doubled in the last ten years ands the Earth is showing a slight cooling. How do you explain that?
  19. The ice free summer in the Arctic is a figment of Algores imagination. It is not going to happen so the question is mute. My neighbour watched the Algore scarefest movie and is certain we are all going to soon die. I told him that the movie is meant to terrify children and adults shoud be smarter than that.
  20. Increased CO2 and warmer temperatures are a benefit to mankind. The whole AGW thing is ridicolous. And if you left your fridge open it takes more energy to remove the heat so you would actually be warming the Earth as your food spoiled. AGW in a nutshell.
  21. I am sitting right now on hundreds of feet of limestone rock. The limestone and the trees and most other things including your body are made from carbon. It doesn't simply vanish.
  22. Your food will thaw every other Tuesday.
  23. 2.54 cm = 1 inch to convert minus farenheit add 32 multiplied by 5/9ths examples -21F + 32 =53 * 5/9= -30C -40F + 32 =72 * 5/9= -40C
  24. I am anxiuously awaiting the BBC article highlighting the slow melt in the Arctic.
  25. So far much more ice in the Arctic than at this time last year. Kilimanjaro not in Arctic. Us Canadians alrady use huge diesel trucks to run thousands of trips across the Arctic ice in the Winter delivering supplies throughout the Arctic.
