  1. But of course the MSM makes it seem as though it has never been possible to traverse the North West passage in 80 some days in the past. I met Larsen when I was a young kid. To bad I was to young to question him.
  2. Huh? This is heated and personal? The fact that I don't believe that a tiny amount of CO2 is going to cause unstoppable warming of the Earth does not mean that I will not heed the voice of reason or that I am unreasonable. The climate appears to agree with me.
  3. Which of these events is consistent with AGW? My understanding is AGW was going to cause a lower amount of rain.
  4. I still want to know how the little St. Roch chugged through the northern part of the Northern Passage in 80 some days in the early 40's crossing from the East coast of Canada to the west coast. Was there less ice then? It doesn't appear as though this is the first time the ice has been at such a low level. And the ice has recovered before and it will again.
  5. I thought the prediction of AGW was severe dry spells? Has that changed also. The midwest floods every spring it is normal weather which you will find has been much worse in the recent past. This is not a major high water flood. Has the Mississippi flooded her banks or even come close?
  6. You would also be correct in saying that. Climate is a very complicated thing and there is no climate model that is anywhere near useful for predicting the future climate. Perhaps you can provide a link to the climate model that predicted huge increases in man made CO2 would coincide with a cooling period for the Earth? I want any skiers on the site to know that summer snow skiing is now possible in the USA in the middle of the AGW plague.
  7. Snow in June? The year without a summer continues. "Statement as of 9:02 AM MDT on June 12, 2008 ... Snow Advisory now in effect until 3 PM MDT this afternoon... The Snow Advisory is now in effect until 3 PM MDT this afternoon. Occasional snow will continue across Yellowstone National Park through 3 PM today " http://www.wunderground.com/US/WY/001.html
  8. The climate models are 100% wrong. Every one of them is wrong. None predicted hugely increasing man made CO2 would result in a cooling earth.
  9. There is no accurate climate models. They are all 100% wrong. Have you ever looked at the effects of clouds on weather? Much greater than the CO2.
  10. So you are saying if the ice melts at a later time it will cause greater earlier ice melt?
  11. We have had a huge increase in the man made CO2 emissions in the last ten years and a slight cooling of the Earth. The cooling seems to be increasing. How do you explain that with the CO2 computer climate models?
  12. The year without a summer continues. "The Aspen Skiing Company said Monday that it will open up Aspen Mountain from June 13 to 15 for skiers and snowboarders. The company says record winter snowfall has left the mountain covered with snow, leaving behind an average of more than 3 feet of snow on the upper slopes. So, for this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Aspen will open seven runs and about 45 acres of mostly intermediate terrain that is accessible by the Ajax Express chairlift. 13. The jobs are out west in Alberta and Saskatchewan. They cannot get enough workers in those areas and they are currently experiencing the year without a summer.
  14. They are predicting a much later thaw than last year. For instance predicting the Port of Churchill to open 16 to 18 days later than last year and almost at the normal mean. View of the actual ice. Doesn't look like Hudson Bay will open for the Port of Churchill near as soon as last year especially considering it is quite cold in the area. http://www.socc.ca/seaice/seaice_current_e.cfm
  15. I look at it as the air temps are directly related to the water temps. If the Arctic has cold air temperatures this will slow the melt. Like you have said we will see in a short time. I believe last year was an anomoly with the record temps in the Arctic and this year no such thing will happen. If the low level of ice in the Artic last year was such an anomolous event how did Larsen run the St. Roch through the northern passage in 80 some days in the early 40's?
  16. I worked in Germany one summer and the lady I bought my bike off asked me if I knew her sister in Vancouver which is a few thousand miles from my home in Windsor. Canada is huge and if I started driving right now I would still be in the province of Ontario 24 hours later. Nothing but rocks and trees for a thousand miles after you escape the populated south. The pre Cambriam shield which is the original rock of the continents is on the surface here as no where else in the world. And it is wonderful country where I have walked hundreds of miles with only a compass and a map. Most of the rest of the North American continent is built on mud and limestone. The limestone a result of life forms built from carbon.(what do you think the thousands of feet of limestone came from?) Where I sit there is thousands of feet of rocks built from carbon underneath me.(and what do you think your bones are made of?) True if the temps go cold it will be a disaster for the world. With the cold weather and rain the Yanks have had huge problems planting corn and they produce a huge amount of the world production. What part of Canada were you moving to?
  17. Who is we? China is building a coal fired plant every week and I believe they do not have much in the way of pollution control. Locally here we have shutdown at least half of the industry and much of it has transferred overseas where they do not use pollution control. Choking our western economies is just making things worse worldwide. I see absolutely no proof that there is any danger from CO2.(and there is no proof)
  18. A huge rise in anthropogenic CO2 has not had any impact on the Earth's weather. The natural cycles are still in normal ranges that have been commonly seen in the recent past.
  19. Anthropogenic CO2 emissions have been increasing for a lot longer than four years and are now likely accelarating at a huge rate with the industrilization of the third world and still no marked heating of the planet. It actually looks as though the planet has been undergoing a slight cooling and this year a more pronounced cooling.
  20. And then your radiator uses air to remove the heat from the water. And there are many air cooled engines. Bad analogy. Surface temps will be very important as to how much ice is left at the end of the summer.
  21. It has been very cold in Canada this year and the west continues to shiver. Well if you do the simple math and see how the west has continued to increase CO2 emmissions and then realize China is now the worlds number on emmitter and India, etc., have also had huge increases the truth is that in the last ten years there has been a huge immense increase in CO2 emmissions. This estimate from 1980 to 2004 shows a huge increase in manmade CO2 and the output has doubtless increased greatly since 2004 with no large increase in temps. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/envir...emissions_N.htm
  22. The full moon causes larger tides that tend to crack the ice. They still manage to have little problem running huge semi trucks(do you call them lorries?) with huge loads over hundreds of miles of ice roads to supply the oil drilling, etc., sites on the ice.
  23. The Arctic also has small tides which is why in the winter they can build roads on top of it and drive huge loads over the ice.
  24. My belief is that the surface temps are a large driver of the water temps. And it is still all hard water.
