  1. I wouldnt rule out the chance of snow for lower levels for some parts of Wales this week. Slightly colder -7 850s moving down Wales on weds evening and night with negative dewpoints. Ok, the showers will probably be on the N and W coasts/hills. The trouble is when general precipitation will move south (perhaps thurs AM) the air is slightly warmer so snow only for 200- 300+ Then cooler air again Thurs PM but drier. A frustrating marginal yoyo this week!!
  2. Can hear distant rumbles every few seconds to the E heading N over Snowdonia.
  3. Bubbling up nicely here. Some distant rumbles. Only 23.5°C (highest temp here this last week!) , but very very humid! NW Wales
  4. So can I! In Caeathro. I guess from the developing cell on the tip of Pen Llyn. Heading N!!
  5. By Monday the front has pushed back NW. So perhaps better temps in the north? Temps dont look much better here though. (NW Wales) N'erly winds and cloud doesn't help I guess!
  6. Underwhelming for here in NW Wales too... 20C. (and NW UK) Not sure if the setup is right for NW areas. Need a stronger SEerly wind I guess to create a foehn effect?
  7. Look like about 4 or 5 inches of snow here at sea level! Wasn't expecting that!! Much more thay we've had last week!
  8. Could well be. Green echoes on the radar over us, but not a single flake!
  9. Isnt the stuff over the Irish Sea anaprop?
  10. A couple of inches if snow here in Caernarfon
  11. Had a coverning here in Caernarfon. 1st time sice 2012. Nearly stopped snowing now though.
  12. that is strange isn't it!! However I tend to ignore those computerised "table type" forecasts and look at the synoptic charts instead such as this GFS one
  13. The winds were foretasted to be westerly. Wont be NW/N until later on this evening and overnight...
  14. nice HIRLAM chart for tonight... WRF NMM less keen on snow though...
  15. Only heard 2 rumbles. Havent seen any lightning yet. Rain torrential though. Sounds crazy in my car!! Short video of rain (it wans't at its heaviest when I took the video!) 20160606_130021.mp4
  16. Thunderstorm and torrential rain here in Bangor, north west Wales
  17. Looking at the GFS charts.... The only hope (of sleet probably!!) here (NW Wales) at sea level would be the back end of the cold front tonight where dew points are below zero and cold uppers. But by then the precipitation will probably fizzle out! when the colder pool of air digs in overnight, it should be dry. Then when the occluded front follows tomorrow morning, it will be too mild (from the north) for any snow on lower ground...
