  1. The only thing I can think of is that Caernarfon Airport is literally right on an exposed beach, so would't be surprised to see a gust of 103mph!
  2. Gust of 103mph recorded near here in Caernarfon Airport this morning.
  3. Just had some hail here in Bangor.
  4. Just had a thunderstorm not far from here. Wasnt really expecting that! Something interesting for a change!
  5. Sure is windy here in NW Wales!! Sustained winds, and had a couple of very big gusts.
  6. A tad breezy here!!😮 Lights flickering, wheelie bins falling over!
  7. I'd be disappointed if it didn't snow here overnight! Even at 9 am tomorrow morning conditions look favourable, before it will probably turn to sleet or rain in the afternoon as dew points and uppers rise slightly. Dew points... I'm in Bangor in the day, but saw that cloud to the south.
  8. 5C here with squally showers with a little hail mixed in.
  9. Hi. Yes hope so! A colder northerly later on Saturday onwards...!
  10. Same here. For my location, I think we never seem to do well with Westerly's even some north-westerlys. The showers always seem do die out as they head over the Irish sea from the Dublin area. Maybe its just me but hope I'm wrong this time though! We always do well with a North to North westerly - steamers form the North channel.... But the lack of warning for wales might do due to the fact that it could be marginal (except for east wales though....) Look at this wet bulb chart -the 100m purple only creeps into east Wales. 200m ridging for the west into the rest of wales. But you'd think that elevated areas would see snow...!
  11. WRF NNM 0.05° at 7am on Thurday morning when precipitation seems to be at its heaviest, only showing snow inland.... dew points around 0°C or above around coasts... Quite cold uppers though.... Good thickness too....
  12. NMM 2km for lunchtime tomorrow.... Not much about as expected, but hopefully showers will get going into the evening and overnight.
  13. Borderline for here on the latest 6z WRF NMM! http://modeles.meteociel.fr/modeles/wrfnmm/runs/2015011906/nmmuk-1-37-0.png?19-12 http://modeles.meteociel.fr/modeles/wrfnmm/runs/2015011906/nmm_uk1-1-36-0.png?19-12 Inland with elevation required I'd imagine though. Seems further west anyway!
  14. Can see the clouds on the webcams.... http://www.caernarfonairport.com/live-weather-webcam/
  15. A nice little blob on the radar! I'm in Bangor during the day, and its been cloudy here all morning with the odd grain / rain /sleet, and just had that shower that's over c'fon now. But we are on the edge of it, so it wasn't too heavy. It started off as rain/sleet. Cleared away now. Still a bit of cloud on the satellite, and one or two very small echoes on the 10.30 radar so wouldn't rule out another shower or two developing ofshore from the N coast.
  16. Good question! Might snow here in any heavy precipitation anytime between tonight an mid week next week. Could be some wintry showers overnight tonight. A few occluded fronts and troughs moving down over the weekend, so who knows! Any streamers off the irish sea in the North wind would be ideal for caernarfon but we might not get any..!More general rain/sleet or snow forecast on tuesday but too far ahead to be specific. On tuesday upper temps and dewpoints slightly too high in the mild sector so snow probably limited to higher ground inland at least 200m+. Again too early to forecast really! Might turn to snow on the backedge as the rain clears and dewpoints fall again.
  17. The weather at 9.55pm tonight will (should) be better on bbc News 24!
  18. Hope so! A re run of the snow we had in 2012 would be good! Would be nice to get some north channel steamers off the N / NW wind, and any frontal snow would be ideal!
  19. cloudy here now in Bangor. Rain not too far away I think.
  20. Windy here in Caernarfon, NW Wales, but it seemed to be windier here a couple of night ago! I guess the winds haven't reached their peak here yet though...! I don't have an anemometer, I measure wind by the lounge chimney roar
  21. More of a chance for us tomorrow with the showers of the Irish Sea hopefully!! BBC weather graphics at 6.15 looked quite good for us!
  22. Crazy night! Nearly non stop thunderstorms, one after the other between 7pm and 6am. Never seen anything like it to last all night!
  23. Heard a couple of rumbles to the south of here about 30 mins ago. Starting to rain now. Radar watching time!
  24. looks good over Ireland and far SW! http://sat24.com/gb
  25. GFS looks nice so far... http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rtavn1381.gif
