  1. Hi Graham, congrats on booking the trip, you'll love it, see you on tour 4 !!! Happy to send on the handbook pdf if you want it, give me a shout if you do Craig
  2. Hi all, had a wee bit of a chase around MK area earlier, not a lot of structure and didn't nail any cg's either. Lots of thunder tho and managed to bag a rainbow shot, had my wide-angle lens with me to try and get the whole thing in view but could not find a clear shot in the Bedfordshire country-side, reminded me of Arkansas Can we get some night time storms now please
  3. Nice one guys, love the rainbow shot, shame about the stars tho, safe journey home all !
  4. Right, thats me done ! What a tour, seen lightning every day, seen things and been places out here that I never imagined I'd ever see, so glad I decided to come on this trip, pretty sure this is'nt the last time I come to Arizona ! Cloud-nado anyone? Why not, we've had pretty much everything else This would be a good chance to say a massive thank you to Paul S for putting us in the right places at the right time as ever, to Mr Storm Fisherman for being a great room-mate, and to claire for going without coffee for long periods and holding it together remarkably well. Great chasing with you guys Craig
  5. Another iconic photo op today, the cactus lightning shot, stunning setting, stunning state. (Very small screen grab off a vid) Craig
  6. Another day at the office We had rainbows, dust devils, dust storms and crazy outflow winds today, everyday throws up something different here, incredible !! Going for 10 out of 10 today !!!!! Craig

  10. Top, top day !! Really hoped to see a haboob while over here, but to see one and experience being hit by it was awesome, the mental dust devils were just an added bonus. This place is insane !!!!!!!!!! Craig

  15. Just been looking at Arizona info and thought this might be worth sharing : Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act. The act makes it a state misdemeanor crime for an alien to be in Arizona without carrying registration documents required by federal law, Best keep our passports on us then
  16. Action in eastern AZ 'till Wed, then moisture returning from the SE 'till the wkend Happy with that
  17. Ah, I was wondering what point we would go through customs, but to be fair, (and not to tempt fate) I was through customs in no time at all back in April in DFW, I did practically run off the plane to get to the head of the line tho, and the hall was practically empty, just have to see how it goes I guess?
  18. Hi Claire, here's the link http://www.stormtrack.org/forum/showthread.php?17573-FAQ-Chasing-the-Southwestern-Monsoon Can't answer your question as no-one is on there talking about it sadly, last post was on the 25th July As Paul said not a popular site atm, not found any others discussing it yet, if anyone can point us in the right direction please feel free
  19. Cheers Paul, I was wondering how the monsoon season was being perceived over there, been keeping an eye on Susans thread on stormtrack and it has been very quiet, was hoping there would be more reports and pics on there, maybe they've been too busy chasing to update it?
  20. Cheers Roger, hope you have a great time, maybe see you over there! Btw, will there be a new thread for the trip or will it go down as chase day 44 on the 17th ?
  21. Hiya guys, the only extra thing I'm taking is a black light torch to do some scorpian hunting Quiet day in Arizona today, just the 19500 lightning strikes so far !! http://www.weatherbus.com/light.php
  22. Hi all, I am currently addicted to this site : http://www.weatherbus.com/light.php , shows just how actice the area is for lightning, wow
  23. Hi Paul, as Claire says the dust may well be a problem so some sort of protection will prob be a must, a cpl for the day and the token guesture of a uv filter at night, not to have any effect on the shot of course, just protection. I'm hoping that we will be seeing lots of lightning during the tour, never used a trigger before but I would like to think we'd get the chance to use one quite a bit out there, so I'm looking into that as well atm. As for coverage, no idea really, Paul S will kno more about that I guess, can't see there being much demand in the desert for broadband but u never kno? "Craig is the man to talk to for photographic advice, he took some cracking shots on T1 this year" More luck than judgement Claire ! But thanx anyway
