  1. Picked up some interesting "ice bobbles" on the tips (probably a better word for it) of my shoelaces this morning (Friday)  from the frost while marching up and down to the targets at archery in 0C temps. Was like a heavy, dirty dual-hailstone, a microscale analogy to a very dirty comet. It's all a question of scale. We are here but once, so observed for pleasure.

Scenes from the Dawlish webcam show conditions deteriorating. 60 mins ago the spray from the waves were just about reaching the railway track but now the wwbcam which is quite a way up is getting covered in spray

    Seen lightning from it too.

Epic, crazy and incredible. Spawned from nothing to a beast in 5 min. Continuous thunder, large hail for a good 20min and weather station recorded 98.8mm of rain. That's not counting the hail that bounced out as it was full.

Never seen anything like it! Bit of a clean up job now. Water was coming through the front door and in the kitchen.

A lot of Stroud is in a bad state. This is my mates house. Really bad on horns road

Oh dear - what a mess. This is the downside of extreme weather events.

Hello. Can anybody explain this please? Me and my sister in law caught this flashing ball of light earlier. This was over towards Crewe and Nantwich way around 7pm during a distant thunderstorm. There were quite a few CGs from the storm. Just to add context there are no tall buildings over in that direction and the flashing lasted around 30 seconds. It looked brighter to the naked eye than what you see here...but what could it be? Have we caught ball lightning on camera??

Maybe a substation got hit and started off some short-outs?

Wasn't successful in getting any lightning pics a sec ago, as there just wasn't enough of the stuff! The 'Smidge' repellent I was using to repel the mozzies seemed to be working through, unless I'm going to discover bites later....

Great to at least be getting a good downpour out of this at the moment at the very least.

Those little buggers will get you when you sleep.....
