Big cauliflower clouds out to the west - when the sun is out, it's baking, making steam rise off the lane outside. Could it kick off here today then anyone with the Knowledge, let me know...! Been up since 6am when it was total fog/cloud cover up here on the mountain, has since cleared but clouding over from the west now... -

Well maybe a bust after all for Ireland - last x disappears from blitzortung and I'll be off to bed - there is a white blob just appeared below the other blobs on Meteox satellite which might expand like the previous one... just one more update lol! My curtains moved too earlier - maybe the samosas though -

I not joking - whever I cook up lamb or chicken, she slips her leash and I will find her out there... just sitting, looking... She is a fairly sizeable Rottweiler. Soft as butter though - It's the mastiff chained up in his barn you need to worry about lol! When we met, he told us we could shortcut over his field any time - so long as we could do it in 9 seconds, since the dogs take 10... Here's hoping we get a good show tonight = hang on, lights are after flickering! Now can you imagine what I miss most about living in the suburbs of London - Not shopping, boundless frequent public transport, courtesy on the roads, suitably dressed fellow members of public.... No. What I miss the mostest is those tasty oily little samosas available in any newsagents/mini-mart/garage within a 5 minute walk of home. -

Oh yep - lightning to my south, no forks or rumble with this one so maybe far off/high up??? I am in the middle of cooking a batch of samosas. Off to get candles etc - last time we had a storm power was out for a day - Winter 2010, the substation got hit by thundersnow strike and we were out for 6 days!!!! Hurry on samosas.... -

Sun has only just set here in Co. Limerick - could see some towers forming over Killarney way on the drive home, and some pileus (I think) over the West Limerick Hills, where I live. Very muggy and close, warmer than it was at 3pm today now by 10 degrees or so! How can it get warmer when the sun goes own? No work until 6pm again tomorrow so bring it on! *tries not to read back through posts in case anybody said 'It's all dying off now'......* -

Not working til 6pm tomorrow so can stay up late if I have to... Happy storm days you southern uk peeps!!! -

ireland Ireland Regional Discussion - Autumn 2013
tara303 replied to The watcher's topic in Regional
Hello All I moved to Co. Limerick (Abbeyfeale) very recently, from Sunbury, near Heathrow in London. I'm a thunderstorm lover and looking forward to some storms next week hopefully! Last few years in UK has been pretty poor for MCS's and any light shows at all, really. Hope this week will bring some activity! Nice to find an Ireland section Tara Must change avatar location............. ;-) -

Looks good for Cork middle of next week - I moved to Abbeyfeale in Limerick last October, from near Heathrow... we've had two flashes and a boom here since then... looking at Estofex maybe a chance today??? Been spying back here on the old forum, assuming that since I moved, London would be treated to 3 hot days then a bang lol! -
Uk Convective General Discussion & Forecasts, 16th August 2012>
tara303 replied to Coast's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
any action due for west london/heathrow now? brief flash bang this morning just before lunchtime, which died away.......... -
Took the dogs for a walk at just after 6 this morning, the mid level clouds were lit from underneath, giving them an angry red glow, and it was completely still and ominous. A ver light breeze now, but feeling close an oppressive - anyone give a forecast for around the heathrow area???
-
Lights flickered once, can't hear thunder though.... (but I do have a stinking cold so my ears are muffled!) lots of convection over towards windsor/reading....

Well, the sky has gone very dark towards heathrow/windsor/reading way, temp also feels like it's dropped a few degrees, was nice and sunny. still and warm, now cooling and the light is going very'cool' too, and a sudden gust of wind now from nowhere! Getting the washing in......!!! and here comes the rain! blustery and a good 6 or 7 degrees lower temp than just 10 minutes ago... could it...?
