  1. One weak yellowy flash off to the east of me (feltham Sunbury Middx) lit up the clouds... Oh heck I'm back to work tommorrow after a week off waiting for storms!!! Do I stay up, or head for Blanket Road, Bedfordshire central.....
  2. I'm 1m south east of LHR - can see the planes once they get to 400m or so - theres a strip of chunky mackerelish stuff, and big clouds way off to north east - will report back one mutts walked, can get a better view off to the north from the park, view here obstructed by houses somewhat in that direction - a fair breeze has got up now, enough to take the humidity down a touch, thank god!
  3. I'm a mile or so from Heathrow, and completely blue sky here, one big cauliflower off to the north east - will be taking the dogs out soon now it's cooler so I can get a better look - really hoping for storms as I have tommorrow off - will we be lucky?????
  4. woah -skies are looking really scary at the moment - might I get a storm?
  5. Sky very messy around sunbury middx, but cold??? hoping i'll get a storm today, called it a duvet day from work, so it better be worth it!!!!!!
  6. any chance for surrey tonight??? or should i get a chinese, a bath and an early night.
  7. done some clicks - cloud base is very low, planes from heathrow dissapear at 2000ft or so.
  8. Yup, I am lol - and anyway im so tired tonight after googling at the radar til 2.30am and then a day at work that i'd probably fall asleep and miss it anyhow! Bonus is, the rule in our house is when there's a storm, there's a Chinese Takeaway...................... It's got a lot coller in the last hour and a half - at half six when i left work it was 19, now 14.
  9. Yeah - Blitzortung shows a bit of action but much more southerly than IOW... Still very humid here, clouds very low, but moving fast in a southerly direction and a yellowy tinge...... just maybe????!!!!!
  10. IOW shows something about to cross the channel... a cheeky little evening lightshow? Really???!!!! Anyone wanna bet it hits the water and fizzles.......... like i'm about to after two nights of no sleep!!!!!
  11. Finally a lovely storm, but at work so had to run for shelter when the lightning hissed at me and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck!!! My garden centre backs onto a golf course - the idiots were still playing, despite the course keeper closing up! luckily he lent us a big spongy roller thing as our roof gutters and drains were overwhelmed creating a waterfall inside the shop....groan!!! all the while we were mopping, i was missing the show!!!! hail of 1-2cm oval shapes at just after 1pm. Several bags of lawn dressing going cheap tomorrow methinks!!!
  12. as long as it doesn't go off in your eye you'll be alright!! eriously, i'm thinking of re-setting me alarm hourly so at least I wake if there's action......;-)
  13. oh that lump on france's east coast looks tasty - but i fear too north easterly a track looking at blitzortung... poo. had an amazing storm there while camping about 10 years ago - went on for 4 hours, we sat in the mini drinking cupasoup - watching our tent de-stabilise...........
  14. I saw the clouds too while walking the dogs - trying to decide whether to stay up or be woken, and wishing i had tomorrow off !!! Two of my colleagues on hols so I'd have to be really brave to throw a sickie... but then you can't help when you're ill......mwahahaha...
  15. Late shift in then!!!!... bet it cracks off tomorrow when I'm at work... Outdoors!!! I only like storms if i can be safely tucked up with me radar maps and a cup of tea and plenty of chocolate buttons for company!!!!!
  16. Not many flights left now for tonight, I live in sunbury on thames, the planes go directly over my house when they make the sharp left turn out of Heathrow, over guiidford.
  17. I'm really trying not to get petulant about this... only another 20 mins or so and the last flight is done at Heathrow, so Mr Storm better get a shift on!!! I am using THE FORCE lol.
  18. Not sleeping until we get a storm. Lines of Ac Cas over towards Windsor. Flipping between Flightradar 24 and IOW/Blitzortung.... I am just a nerd, but the other half thinks im a bit 'special' lol!
  19. what sort of height is considered 'mid level convection, and is it a good sign? we have some starting over middlesex now, base approx 8000ft (I use flightracker to watch the planes coming out of Heathrow lol what a nerd - and that gives you the altitude - tops still cauliflowering looks about 10,000ft???
  20. Looking a bit threatening out towards Windsor, a big wall of grey cloud, plus the breeze has got up now. Dogs had a bit of a scarp about 10 mins ago, that normally signifies something in the offing... the fat lady hasn't arrived to sing yet..... ;-)
  21. Oh I'm soooo glad I'm not at work today being an outdoor worker!!! would have needed full waterproofs and plastic bags over socks! Rain now coming down at a different angle, road is flooded already...
  22. The dogs AND me say no - got to the gate and they both turned back giving me the 'sofa' eyes lol - looks like a day of radar watching from the cosy under blanket position me thinks.... Anyone want to place a bet on kick off time? Hmmm the music sounds Groove Armada-ey to me.......
  23. Hmmm... don't think the dogs will want the morning walk somehow...
  24. Last day of my precious week off work - please send a banging storm to finish me week off!! Rain hammering down now in Sunbury Middx.... what are me chances???!!!
  25. Sunbury Middx - had gusty winds and a good heavy shower about 20 mins ago, hoping for a proper flash bang pleeeease!!!
